Very Poor Condition

DO NOT waste your time and money. This course could have been good at one point, but the conditions of every part of the course are not worth playing. I know it is near the end of the season, and Tennessee needs rain - but those are not excuses for such awful conditions and unhelpful staff. Then when wanting to get food at the turn they were out of everything except lunch meat sandwiches and a three beer options. Their excuse was, "We're going to close in two weeks and if we order anymore food it might spoil." I'm sure the Nicklaus organization would be sad to see the conditions and lazy staff. Please find another place to play, this one just isn't worth it.

Not worth the wait

River winds has the bones of a great course. But they don't take care to make it special. I played on a Wednesday at 2:30 as a walk up single. The bag guy was super rude and dismissive. Then the starter gave a 10 min lecture on how important it was to keep pace of play, don't drive in the rough, and repair ball marks - all good things and none enforced. No rangers, carts everywhere, and greens that look as pock marked as a teenagers acne face. While waiting to hit our approach shots on 9 I spotted the starter chatting to a maintenance guy by the pump station. I went over and asked him to speak to the group in front as they had no one holding them up and just played a 2.5 hr 9. No help, no difference. 5 hours 15 min on a Wednesday - for shame. Plus their "signature" 17th is a rinky dink Par 3 covered in goose excrement. Pass on this one and head somewhere else.

Very Poor Condition

While Miry Run may have been a gem at one time, the luster has been to tarnished for value. The tee boxes are so spotty it's hard to find grass and the fairways look to have been cut with a home mower sometime last season. Remarkably, the greens were in pretty decent shape - but that doesn't make up for the shorty conditions everywhere else. Don't expect too much service from the staff, or even clean range balls on the irons only range - approx 180 yds. I wouldn't suggest Miry Run to anyone.
