Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club - North Course
Played On 07/19/2015Hills and Hills
oh hills, how I've missed you playing in Florida. Definitely one of the hilliest courses I've played in the Tampa area. Course was in excellent condition. Being summer, the price was extremely good but knowing now what the course can be I think the in season prices are probably fair.
The staff were all very friendly to me but were still primarily concerned with members, which I have no issues with. Was able to play as a single first thing off in under 2.5 hours. I thought the course was exceptional and if it weren't close to an hour drive I would very seriously consider membership. Not convenient to downtown or South Tampa.
Thought the layout did a good job of not putting houses in the line of fire which can be an issue in Florida as well.

Was in Lakeside for a wedding and had a day to myself. Was an easy drive and for Saturday morning was not overly crowded, got off first thing and played in under 2.5 hours and then played a second round paired up and got in around 3.5 hours.
Course is in nice condition with greens that roll true. Course markings were fair and abundant. One or two fairway areas under repair. Tee boxes were clean and in good shape. Bunkers were also fine. One or two holes are maybe a bit too much. Not many dog legs either. Holes are mostly wide open, not really as many trees on the course as I'd expect.
I didn't think it was over or under priced but don't know if a local would feel the same. Being from Florida it was just nice to not have to worry about water every other hole.
Heritage Isles Golf and Country Club

I love this place. Despite being in a community houses are rarely in danger of errant balls. Greens and fairways are a little rough now, was much better in the spring. They're still not bad, just average though. Wish it was a bit longer but there's nice variety and requires accuracy.
The Eagles Golf Club - Forest

Like that it has a driving range and two courses. I think for non-members the price for the quality is on the high side. I would play here again if it were the most convenient course but its not worth driving out from Tampa for.
Bunkers were packed down and wet. Overall conditions were quite wet despite not having too much rain, some but not a ton. Tee boxes were in really rough shape. Fairways were very nice and the greens were pretty good, two of them had some bad spots.

This course is nice and I think the layout is interesting and the greens fantastic. I went off first thing in the morning and didn't have anyone in front and got a 3 hour round in with a partner but it definitely looked like it was getting backed up when we finished. No starter and didn't see any ranger or cart girl. Practice facility was closed.
I think the course is worth $50-$60 if you get out early and avoid the backups.
The Club Renaissance

A very nice facility, well kept. Houses aren't too close which I always look for. No driving range on premises though, you can use range at nearby club but thats really the only ding on this course. Didn't see too many people out and about
Quail Hollow Golf Course

I feel like this course is nice enough and if it were closer to me I would be there a fair amount. No driving range for warm up. Greens need a bit of attention but weren't bad at all. There was nothing special about the place but nothing that made me say wow either
