Good Muni

On the plus side, fairways, greens & pace of play, friendly staff was acceptable. On the minus side cart paths extremely rutted, lack of directions/marking to next Teeing ground lacking (got lost twice), course allowed 5 players in group & bunkers had standing water & not maintained by golfers.

OK for the value

The greens are strange at best. Chris cross pattern with sparse grass & root growth. Ball would not check up even with wedges. Pitts would roll not too bad but speed was inconsistent. Over seeded fairways are fine to play from. Bunkers are easy to hit from when given dry conditions. Most bunkers were wet or had standing water. Why?? No rain in a couple of weeks.

Surprised!

I used to belong to the men's club 18 years ago. I was very impressed with how the course matured, trees, rough & fairways. I have to give the overall condition 5 stars as this was the best public facility I hove played in 5 years. My hats off to the management.

Boring

This layout is very boring. Far too many holes look the same from the tee box. The cart paths are always a good walk from the tees & greens. The cost is a poor value at $75, it should be in the range of &50.

Must play ( even during overseeding)

The front nine was played on over seeded conditions & was cart path only but playable. The back nine was played on yet to be over seeded conditions with good conditions however, the hole locations were nearly impossible to get close to & very difficult to putt. Overall an enjoyable day on the links.

Poor weather
Walked

Course has looks of Hawaii or Mexico in the desert

Good facility but summer heat was cooking ( 110f )
Would like to play it again when you could enjoy the day rather than just trying to survive.

Not to many level lies

This layout has far to many elevation changes & blind landing areas for a resort course.

Ho Hum layout

Many holes looked alike. Un inspiring layout for a PGA course. Very well maintained. Tried to have lunch after round but left after 25 minutes without any staff even acknolegeing our presence.

poor treatment for resort course

Resort course without customer service for the price of golf. No bag drop or help with clubs, pay extra for range balls, no help with clubs at end of round. This would be a fine muni type course if the cost was more reasonable. Good design on starting & ending holes with wide open holes in the middle. enjoyed the pace of play & scenery.

Four of the longest holes back to back I have ever played.

The first nine holes were like playing in a cow pasture although the greens were in good shape. The second nine was just opened after overseeding & the grass was long & young & golf carts were allowed on the fairways which were getting damaged rather rapidly. This nine presented four of the longest holes back to back that I have ever played, 464yd par 4, 250yd par 3, 651yd par 5 & finished with a 430yd par4.

not for public play

A two gate system, one for members & one for public. Public access not well defined. Could not find the public golf shop, where to park or bag drop. Tee boxes are hidden so club selection is cumbersome to down right frustrating. Blind tee shots on many holes makes this course frustrating to play the first few times.

Enjoyable layout.

A very enjoyable round on an interesting layout. Greens are in superb condition, fairways spotty at times.

Widest fairways in the west!

This golf course is in very good shape for this time of year. The fairways are the most generous I have ever played which takes away from a will designed golf course with plenty of eye candy.

Tight but fair

Target golf is what you get here. Fairways a little sparse but plays OK. Greens look ragged but put good & true.

Surprising condition for a Muni course with above average play.

I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of this course. The fairways are in above average shape & the greens were medium fast & rolled true. This will not be the last time I play this course.

The course is eye candy.

I was a men's club member from the opening until 2001. I have not played the course for the last 12 years. It has matured to one of the finest municipal courses in Northern Californis. I did miss the old oak tree that fronted the 10th hole. The operator could provide divit filler as there was some deep gouges in the fairways.

the putting surfaces are the poorest we have encountered in the Tucson area.

A generally good facility & challenging golf layouts. Will not return until something is done to the putting surfaces to make them more playable.
