It's a bit of a drive or I would play here more often. Course is in very good condition. However, Providence has always had drainage issues in the wet season. It has not rained for 2 days and had no issues so they may have also improved that. All in all, great layout, good conditions and well worth the price.

I have played here for years and I'm very happy with the improvements and return to glory of Stoney Brook West. It is a great layout and they have worked hard at keeping the course up. The greens are fantastic and most other areas are in good shape. There used to be a LOT of sand here, however they have removed or reduced the size of many of the traps. I feel they may have removed too much but there is still enough to make you think. I also love that the tee times are spaced every 10 minutes, it really helps the pace of play. Can't beat the price either. All in all, play it, you'll love it.

My wife and I are on vacation and used the previous reviews to pick this course. The weather was perfect. Tim greeted us in the pro shop, very friendly, and got our day off to a nice start. The starter, didn't get his name, checked us in and told us we were slotted behind 2 other groups which was perfect since we got there a little early and got to warm up a bit. The course is in perfect condition, fast greens and makes you hit all the clubs in your bag. Best time we have had golfing all this year. Great course, great people and a great price Hope to play again if we can fit it in this week. As to pace of play, we did wait a few times, however we were a 2-some behind a 4-some. We completed our round in 4 hours and 10 minutes.

New owners are spending a lot of cash to get this course back in shape. Greens are excellent and the repairs to the collars have grown in and in good shape. Many of the sand traps have been removed or downsized, maybe more then they should have, which makes the course easier but has speeded up play. That is still a work in progress. Some fairways need some work in spots, I'm sure that will be addressed. Layout is good, right now I would give it a 6 out of 10, but improving. A big plus, tee times are spaced 10 minutes apart rather then 8, keeps the flow moving a little better.

Had not played here in years, thought I'd give it a try. Was a bit disappointed, but it seems they are trying a little bit. However, sand traps have very little sand and rough has not been cut for a while, but to be fair it has rained a lot and ground is still wet in some areas of the rough. Greens are ok.

Big complaint, many tees have no tee markers so you have to guess where to tee off from. Tee markers are inexpensive, get some out there. If not, this tells me the owners really don't care. Price was cheap, got in some practice, but would not even think of taking my friends there.

Very windy day. Who cares. This is a top notch facility that is always in great shape. Played in just under 4 hours. Greens fast and true.

This course is always in great shape, excellent greens. Many challenges and variety of shots needed. Great value, don't let your mind wander.

They do not have a clubhouse yet and I suggest you leave a little early, can be hard to find, then you must be shuttled from parking area to sign in trailer. It is worth the extra time. Course is in excellent shape with great greens. Blues play around 6400 yards and it drops to 5750 for the white. Had a great time and this course is a must play. Do not dispair about the backup at the par 3 second hole. After that the pace picks up with no waiting.

I love this course. Well, I used to love this course. They have totally ruined the greens. I am not being overly dramatic, at least 4 are totally unputtable and the rest are 30% to 70% damaged. It is a great layout and has ALWAYS been in great shape. Stay away until the greens are fixed. There are less expensive courses in the area that are in excellent condition. I can't believe they haven't reduced rates by 50% or more. Actually, they should close for a month and get the greens playable again!

Course is in great condition. Each hole has it's own unique layout and varied lenghts.
