After being told that they had 2 foursomes setting the pace of play and therefore to make sure we were keeping up to the group in front, not a marshal was seen. The game took close to 5 1/2 hours. When I mentioned it to the worker at the backshop, He laughed it off and said that only happens when you guys show up. I will never go back.
If you go, it does not matter if you are a 10 or 20 capper, You will not score if your short game and green reading and putting is not at a very high level. tough greens and approach shots.

The course was in excellent shape. Several holes are being demolished (including the existing clubhouse). Plans are to have a new clubhouse built in a different location as the coal mining operation will be using most of the land in that area. New holes are being designed further north of the existing course and may be ready in a couple of years. Play this old course with its beautiful mountain scenery.

DIFFERENT TEE LOCATIONS MAKE IT A GOOD COURSE FOR LONG BALL AND SHORT BALL HITTERS. tHERE IS A LOT OF WATER AND SOME FORCED CARRIES, BUT THE GENEROUS FAIRWAYS MAKE UP FOR IT. FAST GREENS. FRIENDLY STAFF.

The greens had been aerated so it was quite bumpy. We played after a heavy rain the previous day so some of the fairways were roped off and it was cart path only. Give it another 2-3weeks and it should be in good condition.

Excellent course. Fairways and greens in verygood shape. Most of the greens are protected with sandtraps in front and ready to catch wayward shots to the side. I thought some of the bunkers could use more sand. Generous fairways for medium and higher handicappers..
The staff both inside and outside the clubhouse were very friendly and helpful.
An excellent outing.
