About

Can score well (70's thru 80's) on a good day. Wheels fall off sometimes and I may blow up to a 90 (bad day). Last few rounds have been just above 80. Enjoy meeting new people and the bonus is playing a game I enjoy at the same time. I avoid players that are too serious and only into beating themselves up on the course. Just being out in the sunshine or overcast, leaving the worries behind, and having a few memorable shots to carry away from my golf day is what "makes my day!" Life long sports fan (participant & professional sports), I love the adrenaline of the competition. Especially love to play any course that is adjacent to the ocean! Have played in several different countries, and keep a travel case ready to go. Anyone wanna hook up for 18? I'm on GMAIL with the above username preceding . . . in Santa Clara, CA

Tough Course 4 first timer. Want another attempt @ it!

Must drive outta trouble and avoid the long brusb
Had 3 lost balls on a bad driving day. Wetter sand
Greens relatively fast and you'll 3-putt easily if you don't pay close attention
Pin positions from heck all day; tight to one side, behind traps, corners of greens.
Lush green fairways with lots of gulleys and barrancas within hitting distance.
Pretty green outside the fairway made for some nice views.
Course knowledge (none here; have play the "Valley course - much easier!) is definately an advantage. . . played w/ member.
I'd rate it an 8 for both conditions and challenge for any advanced player.

Good for practice

Had a couple of hours to kill, and wanted 2 work on my iron play. Although the 9-hole track had 4 par 4s, You dont have to bring more than a hybrid really. #9 is the longest hole and a driver, 8 or 7-iron will get u home. Young girls at check-in & bar/concessions were nice, which was different than my past experiences with uppity older staff.
Don't expect too much, work on your short game, and you'll be fine; especially w/ GolfNow pricing!

Worth a return visit! Sandpiper - Santa Barbara

Played about 24 holes. Pro shop allowed a start on the back nine, since #1 had 2 4somes waiting. Very interesting layout, long holes (from back tees) and great grubb from their indoor/iutdoor grill. Weather was nice at first, became overcast. We had a discounted green fee, $80 noontime. Great service...attendanr swapped out my spikes foe me!
Professional staff!

nice track, brown in patches (frost) better play in times other than winter. a challenging, yet scorable & open layout. Do golf now for value.

Opps!! Review is above. Don't pay more than $50. Other Monterey courses better. Check out Carmel Valley. Still it's double the price, but better conditions for winter play! Be a NCGA member 4 discounts! Hit 'em long & straight.
