From start to finish, the experience was bad. We showed up 45 minutes before our tee time to warm up, only to find that they had run out of carts and we needed to wait about 30 minutes until two were returned. That would’ve been fine because we would just go to the range to warm up. Unfortunately the course was out of range balls for the day. Things didn’t get better when we started our round. The conditions were fairly poor (burnt out fairways, sandy greens/tee boxes, messy bunkers, patchy rough). The layout was average. The pace of play was shocking. Could not have been worse. The group in front of us was a fivesome, so we were waiting 5-10 minutes before every shot. The group behind us hit into us no less than 5 times. I realize that on Saturday afternoon it isn’t going to be quick, but holy smokes this was bad. We skipped the final three holes because we couldn’t take it anymore. Bad experience on a bad course. 0/10 would not recommend. We got a deal on golfnow and it’s still not worth it.

This was one of the courses my group decided to play on our annual Orlando area golf trip. Course was an interesting layout, and the conditions were good. Definitely worth the price our group paid for the round.

My friends and I played Crooked Cat in the afternoon after we played Panther Lake in the morning. Both courses are in great condition and are very enjoyable layouts. The morning round was good, however there were several problems with the afternoon at Crooked Cat. First off, there was a tournament during the day, which pushed back our tee time about 40 minutes from ~1:50pm to 2:30pm. We had planned our trip weeks in advance and made sure we would finish before it got dark, however this delay made it so we were cutting it close. Pace of play on Crooked Cat was pretty terrible. On one par 3 on the front nine, there were 4 groups waiting on the tee box. There was no ranger in site and it doomed us to finishing in the dark. The next issue happened later in the round, when a member of the staff drove up to our group and claimed we did not pay for the round. He asked to see our receipts to prove we had paid. It just made things slower. I know these courses are great and I enjoy the layouts, however these problems made for a pretty mediocre experience, especially given the price of the round.

Went on a buddies trip in Orlando with 7 golfers. We played both courses at OCN on the same day. We started with Panther Lake in the morning and it was in awesome condition. The course can be very challenging but never unfair. The best part about the course is the greens. Panther Lake's greens were fast but true, which makes for a very enjoyable round. The practice facilities were great, and the property is sprawling. I'd definitely recommend this course if you are looking for a non-resort course in the Orlando area.

My friends and I had 2 threesomes and the course was perfect for our trip. The course has plenty of water but it was not overly difficult. The staff was very friendly and the conditions were solid for the price we paid. The layout had a good mix of short and long par 4s, several reachable par 5s, and good par 3s. The greens rolled very true but were not very fast. Overall a great experience and good value for anyone on a golf trip in the Orlando area.
