About
I've been going out once a week for the past two years. Generally, I like to have a couple drinks and enjoy myself, but lately I've been getting more serious about improving my game by playing without the tallboys of PBR. I play on a set of clubs purchased at the pawn shop for $30 and I am lefthanded!

Sun Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
Played On 09/14/2017Wonderful Wolf
If you happen to be visiting Las Vegas and you only get the opportunity to play one course, you should make that one golf course The Wolf course out at Pauite. The fairways are suspiciously lush for a course hidden otherwise by the endless desert. The greens are always in great condition and the staff is generally the best in the valley. If possible, try to play on a day when the wind is calm, but if not, enjoy the challenges the winds bring with them. The endless desert vistas, fantastic staff and conditions, and the famous island par 3 on the 15th, Wolf should satisfy the desires of the most critical golfer.
Aliante Golf Course
Played On 10/09/2013Bumpy greens
I gotta say, the value is always good out there at Aliante for the Nevada resident, but the greens were just too bumpy for us to truly enjoy ourselves this time. I'll go back, but I hope they get this fixed. The staff was friendly and the weather was great, so not much else to complain about.
Golf Summerlin - Palm Valley Course

I went out with my regular partner and my new to golf cousin for a very affordable $11 round in the middle of the afternoon on an August day. Normally, it's well over 100, but we were blessed with monsoon weather conditions which kept the temp down and gave us a little shower on hole #2. There were quite a few rough patches of fairway out there, but I know the course is due to shut next week for maintenance and hopefully those fairways will be patched up. The greens were extremely slow, but then again its been raining all week, so dealing with over watering is an unusual problem for us local folk. My cousin is one of the worst players ever to hold a club, I think we all celebrated him breaking 100... on the front 9! That being said, we left him in a cart to himself so he could chase his ball everywhere. Anyways, this course is very easy and my point is, you can take some someone here for a very forgiving round. The staff was hardly present at times, some would view this as a bad thing, but not for us on this day. We enjoyed our cold Tecate and the looming Thunderstorms just off in the mountains while we seemed to have the entire course to ourselves. I wouldn't take a CEO type here, but I'd be honored to spend another afternoon with a couple of my drinking buddies shooting the breeze and a smooth 92 while enjoying an 18 pack of beer on this sleepy retirement community's course.
Arroyo Golf Club

We found a $20 deal on golfnow to pay this normally $65 course for locals. It was 3pm on an August afternoon, but we lucked out and the temperature never got over 100. Overseeding was in process, but that's no reason to knock this course. I did, however, dock them one star for a couple reasons that I think they could fix though. First, the course layout is such that one never comes back by the clubhouse until 18, so I was surprised to not once see a cart girl! Also, the practice area for their private members seemed quite plush, but for the guests just paying our daily fees there was nothing to make us feel anything other than second class customers. I mean no putting green and an abandoned driving range area a half a mile away from the course! That being said, given the means, it seems like being a private member here would be quite nice. The course was in decent shape for the summer time, there were a number of patchy spots, but it looks like they were maintaining the place. Also, there are some real long drives between some holes! I mean like a half a mile in some cases! Great time though and I can't complain too much given the smoking hot rate!
Primm Valley Golf Club - Desert Course
Played On 4/1/2013Beautiful day on a beautiful course
We purchased our golfnow tee time for $29 a person for 11am on a perfect March day. I was a bit concerned from other reviews about the pace of play being a problem, but we had no problems at all! The greens were in good condition, the views from the course were great, and there was nothing I could really complain about. Well, I guess I wish the bar had PBR, but my old punk rock ways die hard! I imagine this place will be miserable once it gets hot, but for now I'd say get out there and go!
