I liked this course the best of any course I played while down there. Recommended to us by an English couple we visited with the night before.
Now its not pristine, but it was easy to get on, priced very well, and the greens were in great shape.
Pace was good even though there were plenty of people golfing.
Watch out for the short par fours. Play an iron to the middle and don't go over the green

Easy drop off, nice little putting and chipping area. We went off at 7:30 behind a twosome and in front of a large group. Our pace was good, but this is not a leisurely golf course. I recommend playing the tees that correspond to your ability.. We took our time putting, otherwise we kept moving.

Course was in great shape, greens were fast but fair.

Lunch was included with our green fee.

Any other course would be closed. There was one green that actually had grass otherwise you were putting on packed dirt. The first hole has a a huge scar from what looks like a drainage issue across the width of the hole. As we are teeing off on #2 a tractor passes us driving right down the fairway leaving wheel indentations the length of the hole. It got worse from there.
Don't get fooled by bogus reviews. This place is not good.

In general a decent course, just not a $75 course. Fairways were OK, but a number of greens were in just fair condition. This course gets a lot of day play, so the greens are pretty beat up with ball marks. The course offers plenty of water challenges, some narrow fairways, and blind tee shots. They need rain.

In general the greens were in very poor shape, The layout is very weird. and takes about 10 minutes to drive your cart to, Most of the back was in poor shape with poor irrigation. There are some challenging holes, but this does not make up for the very poor conditions,

What a great day. Perfect weather. The course was in great shape. I would have given it 5 stars, but some greens were inconsistent (slower). Overall the layout provides plenty of challenge and makes you make decsions. Overall the course was in much better shape than the courses we have seen on the strand.

We liked it so much we are playing it tomorrow.

First time playing in South Carolina. Getting used to the Bermuda grass fairways and greens took some getting used to. In general I did not feel that the greens held the ball as well as I was used to.

I liked the course layout and our pace of play was very good. I really appreciated the quality of the sand in the bunkers. Nice wide fairways,

This is a very nice course that does a great job of guarding its greens with sand, grassy Knolls, and water.

The course makes you move the ball right or left on most holes, so you have to known where to land it.

Beware #4. Tough par 3 guarded by a pond. 7 has two ponds in front and back of the 150 mark. 9 is a 400 yard par 4 (from the whites) that has a creek at 385.

Fun course that I really recommend.

Like most southern Nebraska courses, this place has required a lot of extra work from the course super. They have done very well. Greens were in great shape, and the fairways were fantastic. Everything else was just dry.

The course is fair. Stay in the fairway and you can score. The two par three's run west to east and east to west, and are long so prevailing winds make them very difficult.

Stay left on the approach to 1.

Fun course that was in excellent shape. Very impressive, considering the exceptionaly dry winter.

This course has plenty of character, starting with a short par 4 that doglegs 90 degrees to the left, #2 is a par 3 guarded by water, #6 is an uphill par 5, #7 is a par 4 that presents a decision.

Play this course!

This is a fun 9hole course that has held up well to a long hot summer. #1 is a long uphill par four. With no driving range to warm up it makes it a pretty tough opener. Stay right or you'll double this one.

There is a small creek that disects the course, but no water in it when I played.

Overall a nice course, but get odd the tee and stay out of the trees and you can score.

This is not a course for walking. Up and. It had been a rough start but the course is coming into shape.. It plays long.

Played as part of a corporate scramble. The course like many in Nebraska suffered from a very cry winter and a brutal spring. The greens over all were pretty good. number 9 was still patchy. The fairways are coming around and will look better a month from now.

The course has nice wide fairways.

A 15 mph straight south wind adds some challenges to this course. A creek dissects the course and come into play on 7 of the 9 holes. #3 is a short par 5 that has the creek at about 330, so a good long tee shot is need to position your self to get to the green in 2. its guarded on the right by a sand bunker and trees on the left. # 7 is a long par 3 that is especially tricky with the strong south wind.

The fairways and tee boxes were in excellent shape. The greens are like many this time of year. Putting is a challenge due to recent plugging that has taken place.

I played on a Wednesday, and I owned the course.

This is an excellent course. This course has more bunkers and other challenges for golfers than any other course I've played. The greens were lighting fast. If you go there, practice on concrete.
I found a lot of variation, in the type of layouts and challenges. I used 13 of the 14 clubs in my bag.

If your can't consistently drive the ball 230 or longer, play from the green tees. You will enjoy the course much more.

Play this course.

First. I booked as a single, but when I got there, I was invited to play with two other guys from Falls City. Great guys and a lot of fun to play with. The pace all day was great, but I could see where a busy day could get backed up.
The course itself was in great condition, generally the greens were decent, the last three holes had some dead spots. The fairway were tight. The roughs were a one club penalty, but you could still find you ball and move it forward.
This a decent layout. The back has more to offer than the front. One of the par 4's on the back is less than 300 yards, but its straight up hill with not much green to work with. The course is fair, but the next time I play it, I will have a better idea of where to place the ball. With all the trees, you need to do more than just hit the ball far. You have to be in the right positionto score.
16 is the only water hole, 200 yrds to the front, and at least 230 to clear it.

For everyone that thinks you have to play Wild Horse to get play a big time course in Western Nebraska, I give you Cross Creek. This monster plays as long as 7200 yards, or at 5500. While its not a links course, it has plenty of wide open fairways with unforgiving roughs. Bring plenty of balls if you are not true off the tee.

The greens were excellent and according to the club house guy, the best condition that they have been in 10 years. Fast with plenty of movement.

On top of all this, course does not get near the play as a course near an larger community. We had the course to ourselves.

My biggest gripe was the crab grass. Its everywhere.

Layout is a little funky on the front. From #1 you have to go past 6 tee box to the bridge to go over TIPPER Bridge to get to 2,3,4,5.

FIrst - I caught the course a a few days after the greens had been aerated and sanded. But it was easy to see this course is very well taken care of.
Second,-- while the layout is Ok, the course will penalize you when you don't think through your shots. This isn't a point and hit course.

Take some time to just look around, Monument Bluff in the background is pretty impressive.

This course gets plenty of play, so tee times are a must regardless of the day.. Five sets of tees gives everyone a chance to play.

Wow. I have had the opportunity to golf all over the state and the only reason that this isn't recognized as one of the top courses in our state is because it is way the heck out here. This is a great course. plenty of challenges, the best greens I have played in the last three years. Lightening fast, tough to read, but very fair.

More that most courses, be in the fairway and decide where you want to play your tee shot.

On #2. Hit a fairway wood and pitch to the green .

On top of it all, it is a beautiful course.
Great great course.

Played on a Friday. $10 to play all day. $10 for the cart. This course is very basic, but the team works very hard to keep it up. Very well maintained. # 2 is a par five that doglegs 70 degrees at about 190 yards. You might think you could cut the corner, unless you drive it 300, you will be in the creek. The rest of the course is straight, with a few challenges thrown in. One note, the greens played fast and have enough break to provide above average challenge.

This course is set up to enjoy a nice round of golf, which I certainly did. I do it again.

TIP ---- $6 burger baskets in the club house. Get one!
