We picked this course (from several reviews) as one of two to play on our vacation to Ottawa (from the US), plus the chance to use the automated Golf Skate Caddy. When we got there, we were told the Skate Caddies were already booked for the day (we didn''t get that impression from the website), so we had to take a cart. We would have walked, but we were renting clubs and the bags were an unknown. Speaking of which, I had an interesting set of Nikes -- three pitching wedges (two the same, one left handed), no sand wedge, and an additional Wilson sand wedge). The course is fun to play, with a few good risk/reward holes. It partially winds through a housing development, so you'll probably hear some construction going on. We were really disappointed with not being able to use the skate caddies. Even though we were told they were booked for the day (how many are there? 8?), we never saw them out on the course. The price was certainly reasonable for the course, and my wife really enjoyed it as there were no forced carries (requiring lay-ups). A fun day, but see if you can reserve the skate caddies ahead of time if you go.

My wife and I arrived about 40 minutes early for a 1030 tee time. The staff asked if we wanted to go early to get in front of some foursomes (we did!). When we got to the 6th hole, the ranger told us we'd be catching up to a very slow foursome by #8, and that he'd have them let us through. AND HE DID! This is somewhat different to our usual experience of rangers avoiding the bottlenecks.
The course was in very good shape considering the previous night's t-storm that caused flooding in many parts of NJ. The front nine has very interesting holes with "dramatic" bunkering in play. On the back nine, the challenges are a little more subtle, but overall, the course is enjoyable (I played from the blues at 6600 and my wife from the forward red tees). A very nice course for women - no lay-ups short of long water hazards. They have GPS in the carts that allows you to see what's ahead as well. Still, we played in 3.5 hours on a Tuesday morning. Not a good course for walking. Still, I was most impressed with the ranger!
