18 holes packed in a small area - holes dangerously close

The course does its best to mask a fatal flaw - there should only be 9 holes on this course land, NOT 18.

The Good:
- Course conditions were immaculate. Fairways in great shape, greens well manicured, bunkers full
- Interesting layout given what little room was there - some signature Dye traits

The Bad:
- It's dangerous to put 18 holes so close together when holes aren't protected from each other. Fairways are next to each other with short, sparse trees and dirt track about 15 yards wide separating fairways. That means a lot of wayward shots crossing fairways. I believe a couple of tee boxes were shared and on many occasions you are driving toward the next hole but almost in the path of another's tee shot. I even felt that some tee boxes were in the way of a bad approach shot to the green on another hole.
- Loud car noise due to freeway and busy streets framing the course. This makes wayward shots even more dangerous as you cannot hear warnings.
- The above make pace of play difficult. Luckily we went out early, but I could see the course jamming up as I was rounding out the back nine.
- The starter was clueless. The two of us had a 7:50 tee time, and arrived at 7:15. Saw no one on the tee and asked the pro shop if we could just go, and he told us to check with the starter. Starter keeps saying he would have to report that we were paired up with another 2 at 7:50, so not sure we should go early. I tried to explain to him the course can sell that time to a walk-in if he just let's us go early, and if not, it would help with pace of play. He grumpily let us go.

I think there are a lot of good options in Vegas. Would pass on this claustrophobic option.

Great track, pristine conditions

One of the better courses you can play in Vegas. It can be pricey at times, but in the $1-200 category, i think this is at or near the top in Vegas.

The Good:
- Great layout. Holes vary enough. Challenging course. True dessert course
- Pristine conditions...from teebox to fairway to greens. Bunkers full of sand
- Pace of play was very good

The Bad:
- Not much. Hard to find discounts, but you get top quality for money spent.

Amazing layout, beautiful course, could be 5 stars with maintenance

One of the best layouts in vegas. Very different and interesting holes throughout the course. If green maintenance were improved, it could be worth the rack rates. If you get a deal under $100, it's definitely worth playing. Now with Golfnow no longer rebating fees, you best check their website and book there if rates are the same.

The Good:
- Great layout (I think better than TPC, which I rank up there in Vegas) with different/interesting holes
- Fairway was in immaculate shape
- I actually like how they let the rough go yellow...the contrast with the dark green fairways adds to the visual
- Staff was friendly. Food was good.
- Pace of play was good when I went b/c we were a 3-some behind a bunch of 3-somes. Bag attendants acknowledged it could get bad at times.

The Bad:
- Greens look beat up, no better visually than a muni. You could tell it gets a lot of play, and play from people that are probably novices - a lot of unrepaired ball marks. Given the bad look of the greens, they actually rolled okay. I think even cutting it down so that it rolls faster would have helped, but it was a bit on the slower side.
- Bunkers were in decent good shape overall, but some bunkers were very thin and many had a lot of small rocks in it. They spent some money to repair from what I hear and I hear it was very thin/bad not too long ago.
