Player at Lyman Orchards Golf Club
Played On 08/05/2017Wet times good times
We arrived at Lyman yesterday morning after they just got an inch and a half of rain. The staff was nice and friendly as always. They asked us if we needed anything and advised us that the bar was open.
The course was a little water logged but it honestly wasn't in bad shape considering. The greens were running true and kinda fast...hard to believe. This goes to show how well the Player course was designed.
We were a little bummed that there wasn't a cart girl with beverages...but again it had just down poured.
One thing I have always wished they would do is put more yardage markers on the tee boxes. It would just help a bit.
After we got done we went inside for some food. We waited about 5 minutes for a waitress to come over and realized that wasn't going to happen. We went to the bar and ordered our food and drinks and they came out in a respectable amount of time. Very good food, none of us had any complaints.
Even though it was a wet day, we all had a great time and will be back.
Ps. Why was the player course $49 with cart on golfnow and the Jones course was $69?? None of us liked that...
The Tradition Golf Club At Wallingford
Played On 6/12/2013Tight and winding at times
I've played here before and I usually wonder after I am done, why did I play here again. I'm not a fan of tight fairways and I hate houses on courses. This course can be very challenging if you spray the balls every now and then. The people there are nice, but only so nice. Everything seems to be rushed here. I also didn't understand why they put my twosome together with a couple of kids when there was NOBODY out in front of us. made for slow play.
Blackledge Country Club - Gilead Highlands
Played On 5/15/2013good course for the money
Both courses at Blackledge are well kept. The fairways and greens are well looked after along with the bunkers. The greens are not super challenging or undulating. Although not super long from the blues, the gold tees do add substantial length. This course is a good fair track for any novice to intermediate player. Most holes are lined hy trees, but there is a good ammount of space so that you don't feel to tight when teeing off.
Overall I have always enjoyed playing at Blackledge. There is a good staff there. Fair prices for beers, good food on the go, and a pretty good relaxed atmosphere in the bar. Clean place.
