Jacaranda West Country Club
Played On 07/28/2017Fairways need improvement, greens were below average.
Met a friend who lives nearby and there were only a few groups on the course. It appeared that they had significant water damage and it looked like a sewer project was going on next to the course. Greens very slow and bumpy and were very difficult and inconsistent. Lot of room for improvement.
The River Club
Played On 05/10/2017Very good condition after a terrible drought.
This was a pleasant surprise as I hadn't played this course for several months and given the drought, it was in very good condition. The traps were excellent and well maintained. About half the tees needed some work and perhaps increasing the size and amount of daily watering might help. Greens very hard, put you actually get a little bite with well played shots. Plan on playing again real soon.
The Preserve Golf Club
Played On 05/08/2017Course in tough shape, drought has hurt this course!!!
You must play winter rules to enjoy this course. You will need to move your ball to a little grass if you can find it!!! Green are fast and true. A pleasant surprise is that the sand traps are well taken care of and in good shape. Tees are in tough shape and could be improved by being much larger. The is a target golf course where positioning the ball is essential.
The Links at Greenfield Plantation
Played On 04/15/2017Truly target golf
Invited by friends to play this course and asked an employee where we could warm up and chip and putt. He informed us that there was no chipping and we could take our putters and walk to the putting green. Was actually miffed that we couldn't take our cart and drive to the chipping green. The course is in good to reasonable shape and the pace of play was good. We played winter rules as there were several areas that were in poor shape. It would be good if they gave golfers a book on the course as on several holes that were tricky with small landing areas. Probably will put this course on the list where I won't return as there are better values and nicer courses in the area.
Lakewood National Golf Club - Commander Course
Played On 04/12/2017Great new course, fun lay out, a few truly challenging holes!
I have played this course 12 times and it is one of my top three favorite courses in the Sarasota Bradenton area. The greens are very, very challenging. You can actually have a 100 foot putts on this course. It is difficult to lose a ball as it's very wide open.
Waterlefe Golf & River Club
Played On 03/23/2017Truly target golf, water on 15 of the 18 holes!!!
As an 8 handicap, I found this course extremely challenging and difficult. It is hard to imagine any golfer with an 18 handicap or more enjoying this challenging layout. Practice green is really chopped up and will not give you a true feel for the greens on the course.
Legacy Golf Club
Played On 03/22/2017Challenging layout, target golf on half the holes!!!
This is the 3rd time I've played this course and I love it. The greens will not hold all your shots and are a little inconsistent. Sand is good and water plentiful. Greens can be tricky depending on hole location. Friendly staff that is very professional.
East at Orangebrook Country Club
Played On 03/09/2017Total disaster experience, would never ever recommend this course!
From the moment I walked into the pro shop, I could tell this was an extremely unprofessional environment. I went to check in one hour before my teetime as I wanted to hit range balls. They would not give me a cart for my clubs as they said they had no carts. But the teatime through Teeoff.com for $24 for 18 holes with the cart. The people in front of me and behind me paid 19.46 for their golf fee. The attitude of the people at this course was something I had never experienced in 45 years of golfing. Both of our carts ran out of electricity before the end of the round.
Peridia Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/05/2017Superb greens for putting, need to bounce most shots in front of greens!!
Fun little short course to work on your short game. I liked the consistency of the greens and sand traps. Some of the trap rakes need to be replaced. This is a right course with narrow fairways where you need to play strategic. Par 60 course and the fairways and roughs need some attention. Good value for the money and I will return!!!
Bobby Jones Golf Club - American Course
Played On 03/03/2017Disappointing
Hello,
This was my first time playing the American course and the number of bare spots on the fairways was very disappointing. The sand traps were very inconsistent and half the rakes should be replaced. The greens were good, but a little slow compared to other courses I play. Overall, I play quite a few courses I feel are a better value with courses in much better condition.

Rosedale Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/04/2017Target golf, extremely tight course!!!
I've played this course five times since I retired to Florida and enjoy it immensely. This is an extremely tight and challenging golf course. Hole number nine with water on the right and water on the left and water around both sides of the greens is extremely challenging. Online Course layout is very poor and they need to redo their website and put down every single hole with a good map. If you spray the ball, stay away from this course!
Thank you rockydogz for the great review! We hope you can tee off at Peridia again this season!
