Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 06/13/2022Always enjoyable
Course is in good shape, though bunkers are ground under repair for the time being. Played on a Monday morning, got around in 4 hours w/o much waiting. Still not a fan of the 10th hole, though it was one of my few birdies today. Fairways and greens in good condition currently. It’s still pricy to play, but you know that going in, no surprises there.
The Bridges Golf Club
Played On 12/26/2021Course conditions good for winter
Went off first on Sat, played as a threesome in < 3 hours. Course conditions are improving, the greens are firm and fast. Don’t know that it’s worth $75 on weekends, but that’s pretty much the going rate anywhere these days. Will make the drive again happily.
Thanks for the review and for choosing The Bridges Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon!
Lakes at Firewheel Golf Park
Played On 08/29/2021Continues to be a good value
May not have the bent grass greens of The Bridges, but they’re likely in better shape because of it. The rough was a bit on the long side, and it made for a LOT of time spent searching for balls that should’ve been found easily. Rough probably an inch or two too high. Other than a slow playing group in front of us (no marshall to monitor pace of play?), our foursome got around okay for a Sunday morning. Despite it, the layout is good and the Lakes continues to be a good value.
Wildhorse Golf Club of Robson Ranch - South/West Course
Played On 10/11/2020Nice course, a little on the pricey side
Wildhorse is a good test of golf, windy and challenging. But the course is in really nice shape, and the scoring opportunities are there. Solid round of golf, and worth the drive from McKinney.

Thorntree Country Club
Played On 11/11/2018Fun golf course
While a bit of a drive from McKinney, Thorntree doesn’t disappoint. Course is in good shape, given the recent weather conditions. Greens and layout are its best attributes. Well worth playing.
Thorntree Country Club
Played On 10/06/2018A pleasant surprise
First time playing this course, which I guess is now semi-private. Well worth the drive down from McKinney. The greens and tee boxes were in very good condition, some of the best greens available for daily fee play in the Metroplex. Fairways were okay, given the amount of rain we’ve had lately. Holes had some character, not just a bomb and gouge course. Will play again for sure.
Waterview Golf Club
Played On 04/16/2017Decent round
Decent round of golf for the money, but pace of play (even on a slow Easter Sunday morning) was typically slow, which seems to be the norm here. Greens were in good shape, but fairways (recently aerated?) were firm and needed some grass growth. All in all, it's not a bad track, but on a non-holiday weekend, expect a 5+ hour round.
Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club
Played On 01/19/2015solid test of golf
Course is a good test with some challenging holes. While the Bermuda greens are dormant, they're by far the fastest and firmest around. Wow!
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 10/19/2014a nice surprise
Was pleasantly surprised by this golf course. I've played Trails of Frisco on a few occasions, and expected this course to be about the same. However, I liked the layout more, and the conditions were better. The greens were in great condition, fast, and rolled true. It can get extensive here on weekends, but got a good rate thru Golf Now. I'll definitely be back.
Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club
Played On 09/07/2014decent area course
Ridgeview offers a decent value and a good golfing experience. You won't likely be wowed by the course, but won't be disappointed either. Pace of play can be slow, but we finished as a twosome in 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon, which isn't too bad. The greens were aerated in the last couple weeks, it appears, but they rolled okay, except a few bumpy putts.
Buffalo Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/11/2014it's now in my rotation
Played an enjoyable round of golf here. Hadn't played Buffalo in over 5 years, and couldn't remember much about the course. Range was closed and they'd received over 6 inches of rain a few days before. Considering how much water the course rec'd recently, it was in very good condition. It must drain very well. Overall, the course was in good condition, tees, fairways, greens. The course has some challenging holes, and some easy ones, but it's a decent test of golf. Like the layout. I will be adding it to my rotation of courses, and it was well worth the drive from McKinney.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 05/10/2014greens are pathetic
This is a course that I like, but just can't recommend right now. The greens have been recently aerated, so you can't expect them to be at their best. Unfortunately however, they're at their worst. I'm not sure if they lost the greens over the winter or if they're diseased....but they're almost unplayable right now, and some of the worst I've seen. It's a shame, because the course has potential.
The Golf Club at McKinney
Played On 04/05/2014decent golf course
It's early Spring and after a recent hard rain, so I wasn't expecting perfect conditions. The greens were rolling quite well, as usual....you do want to hit approach shots above the holes, as stopping a downhill putt is nearly impossible. There were quite a few 4-putts in my group. Grass is starting to grow in the fairways, so that's a good sign, but the tee boxes are in serious need of attention. To say they're not in good condition wound be an understatement. All in all, an enjoyable round. Pace of play around 4 hours, not bad.
Bridlewood Golf Club
Played On 03/30/2014solid golf course
Enjoyed another solid, albeit slow round of golf here. Pace of play (back. 9) dragged a bit, but it wasn't excessive. I think it's due to the short Par 5 on the back side that is reachable. The greens weren't as fast as they usually are (typically some of the fastest in the Metroplex, you don't want to be above the hole here!), but they were still good. Overall, this course remains in good shape, and it's a nice test of golf. Well worth the drive from McKinney...I'll be back!
The Bridges Golf Club
Played On 03/29/2014a hidden gem
The Bridges remains a hidden gem. I don't know why golfers in north Dallas don't make the trek to Gunther more regularly. Oh well, their loss is our gain. The course can show It's teeth in the wind, and it's typically blowing there, as the course seems to be at a high point in Grayson county. Pace of play was good, as always. The greens were supposedly recently aerated, but it didn't appear so. Well worth the drive from McKinney, and I do so regularly.
The Tribute Golf Club - Old Course
Played On 03/22/2014course is gimmicky
Played on a Sat afternoon. Unfortunately, they had a scramble going on as well, as the pace of play was excruciatingly slow. We called it a day after 12 holes. Yes, the holes are designed after famous links style courses in Europe, but still...this isn't a course that should command more than $100 per round.
Hi, we appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Coyote Ridge Golf Club.
