Great course with terrible conditions

The course is beautiful and has a fair to challenging layout but the course was in rough shape. The greens where just punched with no warning via golf now or even in the proshop just before playing. I find this unreasonable for any course to not be forthcoming about their conditions

Great layout. Bad conditions. Mixed staff.

I have played MT many times. It is one of my favorite courses in terms of layout. The front 9 has some unique holes that I love. The conditions are really bad. I know there are water restrictions but there are parts that are rutted. Super large dead spots on the fairway but the rough looks green and lush. I don't get. Pace of play is really bad because they overbook on busy weekends. On normal weekdays it's fine.

Most the staff are super kind but I always find the guy grilling at the 9th hole to be rude. Like he is inconvenienced by my buying some of his food.
