I had to play this course at least once and recommend that you do too! I was visiting so I wanted to play somewhere nice and was not disappointed. The scenery by itself is impressive, if not distractingly so, but the course is beautiful as well.
Bayou Golf Course
Played On 08/18/2018This is a pretty flat, open course with a few smallish trees. The course is in pretty good condition; especially for mid August. Tee boxes and greens were nice.
I had a good time. I hadn't played much during the summer heat so it was a good place for me to get back into the swing of things.
Glenbrook Golf Course

I have played Glenbrook for years and hope to return for many more. It hasn't changed much over the years, but it doesn't need to, it just needs a shot in arm to kinda spruce things up. It is a muni after all, but challenging and fun navigating back and forth across the bayou. The greens had just been sanded and seeded, so speed was a bit hard to judge, but it's that time of year and I was glad to see the upkeep.

This course is in great shape, especially only 3 weeks following a hurricane. The bunkers seemed to take the most damage but should be repaired soon pending insurance claim. I got rained out but prorated refunds were awarded to all thanks to Southwyck and Golfnow. I'll be back.
Houston National Golf Club

I had a good time on this course. The tee boxes and greens are in excellent condition. The cart paths are in good shape. The carts are gas powered and mine had a tendency to stall at startup leaving me to wonder if it was going to strand me out there several times. There are a few 150 markers but other than the sprinkler heads, there are no yardage indicators.

I hadn't played this course before and was pleasantly surprised. It was in excellent condition and I had a great time. The fairways are a little tight sometimes with houses lining both sides so hit em straight!

I had a great experience, from check in to finish. The course is well maintained and enjoyable. My cart died but I was able to hook up with another single and continue on. May be time for new carts.
Thank you and we appreciate your patience with the cart that lost power.

This course is well maintained and enjoyable to play. It does challenge you to shoot straight, however, as there are water hazards a plenty.
The course is pretty straight forward, but the title refers to the amount of balls that I lost. The layout is a little funky with one green being used for 2 holes.
Hi dramatic1,
Thank you for your great 4 star review. We are very happy to hear how much you enjoyed our challenging but fun course. We look forward to your next round with us. Don't forget to bring extra golf balls next time!
West Fork Golf & Country Club

The course conditions were pretty sad, especially at this point in the season. I am not saying that it is all bad, the greens were in very good condition, but as someone who spends more time on the rest of the course than the green, I tend to notice the whole course. I do account for the weather not allowing for mowing but it seemed clear to me that the maintenance is not regularly scheduled..The layout also has issues in that it is very dictated by the natural environment ,which is not wholly a bad thing, but this course is very swampy and green #13 appears to be at risk of falling into a ravine .They may be constructing a new green as there is some activity going on there. I visited the course on vacation so it serves the purpose of relaxation and practice but all in all, a pretty "country " course.
Thank you for your feedback. The chronic 9 consecutive days of rain prior to your visit prevented customary access for the mowers. Unfortunately, all areas of the course were saturated. All has since been groomed and the course is back in the pink. Hope you will visit us again. sometime.
Glenbrook Golf Course

This is a mature coarse to say the least. I have played it many times in the past and I'm sure that I will again, but beyond cutting the grass, there doesn't seem to be much else going on in the way of maintenance or upgrades. I don't know if it had rained or if the irrigation was on overtime, but it was very muddy and the sand traps were drenched; some holding water. My cart died just as I got to the 18th green, I walked in. I enjoyed myself but it made me wonder about the future of this coarse.
Hope this will help!
As far as golf cart goes, I found out that pressing on the gas pedal slowly at every start it avoids the stalling.
Second- golfnow app has GPS tracking for free as part of their app, works great and keeps my score and other players with the option to email the round afterwards. Also helps with yardage to places you want to avoid by simply clicking the area, like a lake or fairway sandtrap.
