Good layout in pretty good condition

This is the 2nd time I have played Bears Best in 4 years. I like the track as it’s a very interesting and challenging Nicklaus design. Course was in good shape for the most part. Bare spots here and there on tees and a lot on fairways. Greens rolled decent but bumpy in spots. Overall, it is a well taken care of property. Great practice facility, range right in front of the pro shop. Very nice staff. Pace of play was good.

Immaculate course with nice layout.

Gave Paiute a shot after all the fantastic reviews and they did not lie. The course is like a giant green carpet in the middle of the desert. The wind can be challenging. It was blowing 30mph+ which is above average according to the locals. If you know it is going to be that windy, I would stay away…using a 6 iron for 150 yard shot is no fun, especially into an island green. That said, if it is not too windy, I highly advise giving it a shot. It’s an easy 30 minute drive from the strip over a wide highway. $159-209 rack is a little steep but worth it. Tee to green was perfect condition, nice carts with gps, staff was excellent, pro shop is huge. Pace of play was a bit slow. Saw a lot of reviews that golfers were being pressured for pace…that did not happen on the 2 days I was there(Sunday and Monday), marshals were present but close to 5 hour rounds and it was not cart path only.

Wonderful day on a beautiful course.

I was visiting from out of town and decided to play here being a clubcorp member. Course was in excellent shape, tee to green. Course was no too tight either which I appreciated not being a single digit. Staff was great. Very friendly cart guys and shop. I was very lucky in the group they had me join, fantastic group of friends that could not be more hospitable. That always makes for a good day. Will make it a point to play here again next time I am in the area.

Pleasant afternoon, nice course.

I was visiting from out of town and decided to play here since a lot of reviews bragged about the north course. It was nice but not overly impressed. Course was in very good condition. Tee boxes could use some love in places but fairways were in very good shape and greens rolled well. Course had some interesting holes. I was a single that could not join anyone unless I wanted to wait an hour, decided to go. Got stuck behind a group of kids with no etiquette what so ever. Cart girl ignored me the 3 times I saw her, was too busy flirting with the kids in front of me. I may give it another shot if in the area but did not leave a lasting impression.

Good public course.

Enjoyed the round on a course that had a lot of interesting holes. Tee boxes needed a little love but fairways were in good shape and the greens rolled true. $50 was a decent price for this track. Some holes were a little tight and houses are easily hit. Did not experience any bad locals when I played as in other reviews. I joined 3 locals and they were very pleasant. I would return.

Very good Muni.

I did a lot of research on local courses since I was on vacation for a week in St Pete. The good reviews were correct in this case as the course was in very good condition. Fairways were in great shape and greens rolled true. Bunkers could use a little more sand but were in good shape. The staff was also one of the best I have experienced on a public course. No cart guys but pro shop and starters could not have been better. Cons would be the range which is in poor shape but adequate for warming up. And the carts did not have windshields or club covers for the rain. I understand it’s a muni but I was surprised by this being in FL with all the rain that the area tends to get. Of course it was raining for first 4 holes the day I went and I did not have rain gear, shame on me. Little turned off by the $8 charge for a single cart. I shared with pro shop and they explained it was for extra cleaning. I gladly paid it for safety, but don’t feel it is appropriate. Under $50 total was worth every penny. Will definitely return if I am in the area in the future.

Glad I made the second effort.

Had trouble getting a tee time the week before coming down for our annual vacation, online kept kicking me out. Called the proshop and they were quite rude. Once I was down there, tried to book 2 days out and was able to get on. Glad I did because it was a very nice course and the staff was very nice as well…guess Stacey was just not having a good day the week before. Simple wide open layout with a few nice holes but whole course was in VERY good condition. Tee to green was well kept, greens rolled well. Nice carts with GPS and water machines on course. I will be returning on next trip.

Will not return.

I heard good things about Legacy, but will not return until I hear that someone has put some money into the course and trains the staff. It was busy at arrival, 1 cart person scrambling. Was told I was joining 3 guys at 756, just see the starter on first tee. After practice, headed to the first tee and no starter in sight…3 guys waiting on tee said they were part of a huge group and were going off at 815…when I asked where the starter was, they laughed and said welcome to Legacy. They were kind enough to let me play with them. The course has an interesting layout and 2 beautiful holes on the back. Fairways were decent in most spots, greens rolled ok…outside of fairway was poorly maintained and tee boxes were overgrown with weeds, terrible condition. Even the mowers had no courtesy. Saw us come up to the tee and just continued to mow right at us like we were not even there. Carts were run down with no gps and no water machines on course. With dozens of better options in the area, they will not be getting anymore of my money. 2 stars for the 2 nice holes on back and 3 very polite old men that allowed me to join.

Very scenic course, a lot of trouble.

First time going out to Waterlefe on our annual vacation to Siesta Key. Was pleasantly surprised. Very nice layout, greens rolled well. Fairways were a little rough but got tons of rain, August in FL. Back nine is very scenic. There is quite a bit of trouble on the course so hit em straight or bring a box a balls. Staff was very nice, carts are nice with GPS, water stations on course. Highly recommend.

Another fantastic round at UPCC

This is the 3rd time playing while on vacation in last 5 years and did not disappoint. It is a little pricey, but well worth it. Course is an interesting layout, forgiving in spots but can be a test if not on your game. Greens are always perfect, rest of the course is manicured. Staff is great from cart guys to starter. Guys in the proshop were not over friendly this time around, but everyone else was. Course was in fantastic shape even with tons of rain. Cart path only put a damper on the day, but that’s life in FL in August. Will definitely return, highly recommend you do as well.

Nice course at the beach

I would not return to Seabrook since it is way too sleepy for me and my buddy. For families, I am sure it is great...and for Dad to sneak out and play 18, it's great. Course was in fantastic shape, tee to green. Range, putting and chipping areas were good. Staff was friendly for the most part. The layout was decent and somewhat challenging with a lot of marsh, but not memorable. Could only see the ocean from 1 hole, but could hear it though out the round. I would never pay the $150+ rack rates, but for a stay and play or a deal, you will enjoy it. Watch out for the alligators!

It was in excellent condition, tee to green. Pro shop was well stocked and staff was friendly for the most part. Range, putting green and chipping areas were all above average. We enjoyed the course but it was not a tremendously memorable course. And the rack rates are way to high in my opinion...if you can get a deal as we did, then go for it. I would not pay $100+ for it.

Always a good round.

This is my 3rd trip this year. Course was in great shape even after 5+ inches a rain the week before. Tee boxes were average, fairways were in great shape and same with the bunkers. The greens were a little slow but is typical. They are working a few greens in spots but the other areas rolled very well. Staff is always great. Only downfall to golf at Eagle Chase is the drive...but that's why it is so reasonable. But being in the country also gives you a wonderful layout with no houses anywhere. Take the drive, you won't regret it.

Great course with great staff.

Friend of mine and I went down to HH to play 3 courses. CC of HH was our last stop. We are members of Clubcorp in Charlotte, so the club is part of our network. We paid very little since a part of the network, but this course is worth $100 plus. Course was in really good shape from tee to green. Very nice practice facility. Layout was very good and challenging. A LOT of force carry over water or marsh (but I did not lose a ball). Couple holes with really nice views. Watch out for the gators! Saw 4.
The guy that said the staff was the worst? Don’t know what course he went to. Staff was excellent from bag drop to proshop to marshalls to cart guys at the end of the round. Could not be nicer or more professional. Did not hit the bar or restaurant but really nice half way house. Water machines on course did taste a little funky, but coolers were good. Good day overall, highly recommend.

Very nice layout, tight in places.

Friend of mine and I went down to HH to play 3 courses. Indigo was day 2. Also played Club at Savannah Harbor and Hilton Head Country Club.
Indigo run is the private course, the Golden Bear at Indigo Run next door. Indigo was in great condition, greens rolled true, fairways were excellent and tee boxes were pretty good. Sand was well maintained, little fluffy. Nice range and a good size putting green. Guy in the pro shop was also the starter but it was not crazy busy so no big deal. No rangers either, but did not really need them. Lay out was nice, tight in places, but fair. Enjoyable day out.

Great day out. Wide open course.

Friend of mine and I went down to HH to play 3 courses. Savannah was first course. Also played Indigo Run and Hilton Head Country Club.
Savannah Harbor was a very nice course. Not sure it was worth $110 during the week, but enjoyed it. Course was in excellent shape and greens rolled true. Layout was fun, a challenge here and there but a lot of room for error. Very few woods and not a whole lot of water, but still enjoyed the day. Challenging enough for me. Carts were awesome, really plush and good gps. Nice range. Pace of play was a little slow, single in front of us and twosome behind us.
Only small complaint I can make is that there was nobody out front when we got there…could not tell if the place was closed. Now, once we got in, staff was excellent. Did not eat there. Plenty of water on the course. Recommend it.

Course needs help

We have played Olde Sycamore a half dozen times over the last 3 years. Have always found it to be a nice course with a nice layout. This trip will be our last for a while however since the greens were in terrible condition and the pace of play was ridiculous.
Greens: Bare in spots, very bumpy in other spots making reading the lines and speed impossible. We joked all day that the ball was bouncing so much it felt like we putting in the rough. The weeds and different grasses made it very unattractive. We asked a ranger what the deal was and he said the weather has caused the inability for anything to grow. Sorry, don't buy it. The odd spring weather might be causing the greens not to be lush and perfect, but to have a ball bounce the way it did on every green is not acceptable.
Fairways were in decent shape, tee boxes needed work. Sand traps were decent.
Pace of play: took us 4 hours to get thru 13 holes and we quit due to the poor conditions...my wife and I asked each other, "With the way the ball is rolling, why bother." There were rangers out there and they said they were trying.
Everyone was very nice this day, which is a change since the staff in the clubhouse is usually on the rude side. That was a nice change. What was not a nice change was the egg shells and foot long hair that my wife found in her egg salad sandwich. A shell can be expected from time to time, but hair? Disgusting. I pay $8 for a sandwich, I expect it to be edible.
We might give it a second chance in a few months, but it is going to be hard after this last experience.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with us. Our rangers expressed concerns about the weather and the pace of play. Heading into the summer season, our staff looks forward to improved course conditions. As for your sandwich, we hope you brought this to the attention of the wait staff. If not, please feel free to reach out to the pro shop. Thank you for golfing with us and taking time to share feedback.

Did not let us down.

My wife and I were in Vegas for the week. She played 3 courses with me and I played 2 more on my own. 2 average courses and 3 upscale. We played on a very windy day which made things tough, but the second half of the day did calm down a bit. The range was beautiful but did not have a chance to hit the putting green. The course was in great shape as expected. Very challenging layout (especially in the wind) with a lot of carries off the tee over desert. Great views of the strip on the back nine. Staff was fantastic from start to finish. We got a great deal thru our club, but I would pay $125+ rack rates that I saw on golfnow. Highly recommend the course.

Highly recommended.

My wife and I were in Vegas for the week. She played 3 courses with me and I played 2 more on my own. 2 average courses and 3 upscale. I played Mountain Falls on my own since the ratings were fantastic…I now understand why. I got a hot deal but with rack rates at $70 tops, it is well worth the hour drive. Tee boxes, fairways were in excellent shape. Greens were super fast with a lot of undulation, but rolled true. Great layout, water features on the back nine made it feel like a country club. Two negatives are the drive (an hour from Vegas but up and over a mountain pass was cool) and number 2 is the 1200 houses that are in the process of being constructed. There are a lot of bulldozers and hammers, but the course is still worth it in my opinion. Driving range was great…sandwich at the club next door was awesome. Really looks and feels like a private country club. Highly recommended for the price in Vegas.

Gem in the middle of nowhere.

My wife and I were in Vegas for the week. She played 3 courses with me and I played 2 more on my own. 2 average courses and 3 upscale. I decided to take the drive to CA and play Primm on my own…very glad I did. I booked the course after some mixed reviews but got a hot deal on golfnow and figured it was a good idea to keep me out of the casino. The course is in transition after the new company took it over, but is very close to finished. Fairways were in great shape and greens rolled quick but true. Half of the sand traps are still under construction, but the other half were pristine. Senior tour qualifier coming in January and I understand why. Staff was excellent. It is a good layout and I bet the course is going to be fantastic in another month or two, but still worth the drive now. It is a boring drive from Vegas and I was advised not to stop at the casinos on the way back, but definitely recommend playing if you’re in Vegas for the price.
