This was my first round here, first round in the Abilene area. Wind was light when we started, but by the back 9, it came in strong. Accuracy is a must off the tee. I did ok in navigating that aspect, losing only 1 ball on my round. The greens, a whole different story. They were in great shape, but rolled like on a linelonim floor. Finding a few shots above the hole, and with a wind to my back, relied on balls needing flaps! For late winter, the fairways were in better shape than I was anticipating. I was only in a couple of bunkers, and was able to escape with little damage. As a 12, I was pleased with a 90 here.

Listen to the pro and keep your ball left. This was my first time playing the course and I hit what I thought were good shots on more than a few holes which put me on a steep slope and even in the canal that flows through the course. I would play here again and use more irons off the box.

Of the three courses we played this week, this was by far the best. The layout was easy on the eyes and keeping the ball in the fairway was paramount. The views all around were beautiful. A true gem in the desert.

For a hot day in August, the course is in great shape. Greens and fairways were in fine shape. I hadn't played out here in more than 10 years and was glad we picked this course. Pace was slower than would expect, but will plan on going back again.

There are still many challenges for this course. After 2 devastating floods, it appears they are on the right track. One improvement I definately noticed, was in the bunkers, of course it didn't help that I was in 9 of them, but they were the best I have seen in some time. Greens rolled fast but true.

The course has bounced back nicely since being closed for a year. The day we played was damp which took away alot of distance. Greens were in good shape and held shots.
