Got a super price, but the course was in pretty fair shape, with the greens being healthy and consistent, although tall (to keep them alive in the 100+ heat!)
Overall, better condition than when I last played it a year ago.

Good condition, esp. considering 100+ temps. Fun and pleasant layout.

Found a phenomenal deal on GolNow.com for $12 but once I got to the course found out nine holes were closed and the other nine had just being aerified and had sand on the greens so thick you could barely put through it.
A super deal is nice, but it should come along with some explanation for why it is such a good deal.
I have to say this isn't my favorite course even when the greens are in decent condition but this was a new low.

Desert Dunes is always challenging, interesting and fun! Especially when you catch it on a day with little or no wind, which we did. Had the greens not been freshly aerified it would have been perfect!

Rancho Mirage CC is a quirky short-ish course that is made MUCH more difficult by having greens with lots of "action" - bumps, slopes, varying speeds - and which are some of the FIRMEST things I have ever played (40+ years). The players in our group ( above-average to better players) all had trouble figuring out a way to get any approach shot to stop near a flagstick, without just being lucky. One tried to land the ball just in front of the green and let it bounce on, but the areas in front of the greens were too soft to get a bounce most times. If anyone can stop even wedges on these greens quickly, they must have tour-level backspin.

Only 2 complaints: Cart path only restriction made this a long and tortuous day and the greens were in attractive condition, but looked fast and rolled slowly, which befuddled us all day...
