Dauphin Highlands Golf Course
Played On 06/12/2022Very Nice Layout
Dauphin Highlands offers players a very interesting and fair test. There are no 'copy' holes - though #1 and #3 are quite similar. Conditions are consistently good.
Elevation changes make this a difficult course to walk unless you're young or very fit.
Food amenities are minimal - no cart service and no 'real' bathrooms on the course.
Wyncote Golf Club
Played On 10/10/2021Solid Layout - Great Conditions
Wyncote is consistenly in terrific condition - even during harsh late-summer conditions. Depending on how deep 'the hay' is - the course can be extremely penal if you stray too far off line.
The greens are generous and interesting without being gimicky - pin positions are generally accessible and designed to keep pace-of-play decent.
Hopefully in a post-pandemic world the off-course amenities will improve.
Whispering Pines Golf Course
Played On 04/20/2021Surprisingly Good
Booked this course as the 'last one' on a golf trip - was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the layout. Greens were perfect - really the best we played all week. Course was in great shape and very interesting. Also very walkable.
Clearly a 'locals' hangout -
Royal Manchester Golf Links
Played On 09/05/2016Back In Shape
Royal Manchester is a beautiful and challenging layout. We played on a near-perfect day. Pace of play was good for a holiday weekend. Surprising # of couples enjoying the course which was great to see.
You have to keep it in the short grass here or very near the fairway. Don't head off into the high stuff looking for a ball -- you won't find it. Drop one and move on. Don't hold up play.
