Disappointing conditions
This was the last of the 5 courses our group played on our Orlando golf vacation and this was the only one where the condition of the course left a lot to be desired. The greens were not smooth and putts did not roll true as the grass was sketchy at best. The tee boxes and fairways were not much better. The course itself was a nice layout and the par 3's in particular were long and challenging. But as compared to the other courses we played in the $150 green fee price range, this course is not a good value. Either the green fee needs to be cut in half or the condition of the golf course needs to improve dramatically.
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 10/01/2017Not all Royal
We played this course for the first time today.. We enjoyed the course and it is a nice layout with some challenging holes. The greens on the white nine were in nice shape at a decent speed. The greens on the blue nine had recently been punched and were tough to putt. It had rained hard the previous night and the course was wet in places and the bunkers were washed out. The only negative was the pace of play. We had a three-some in front of us and we waited EVERY SHOT the entire 18 holes that took nearly 5 hours. There was no ranger to move them along or tell them to let us play through. On the 16th hole it began to rain and we got soaked playing the final 3 holes when we should have finished 30 minutes previously. The carts did not have rain shields or bag covers so our clubs got soaked as well. Despite this we would be willing to give this course another try.
Harmony Golf Preserve
Played On 09/30/2017Pleasant surprise
This was our first time playing Harmony Golf Preserve. It is one of the nicest courses we have played in the Orlando area. The staff was very nice and helpful. The course was in very nice shape and an interesting layout. There are a number of doglegs on this course and it makes you think how much you want to cut the corner. Most of the holes have a generous landing area and the greens are fairly large with quite a bit of undulations. If you hit the ball solid you can score on this course. The only negative was the greens were very slow the day we played it and we had a hard time getting the ball to the hole. It was a very good value for the money and we will play this course again on our next visit to the Orlando area.
North Shore Golf Course
Played On 09/29/2017Right off the plane
We landed in Orlando at 11:00 and were on the first tee at 1:00. North Shore is a nice layout in decent condition. It is fairly tight and has some good holes. It was a good value and we would play it again.
Highlands Reserve Golf Club
Played On 12/06/2016First time playing here.
This was the first time playing Highlands Reserve. It is a good value for the money. Pretty wide open course in nice condition. The greens rolled very true at a decent speed, not real fast. The staff were very nice. If you are looking for a high end fancy course, this is not it but we enjoyed playing here and coming from the cold northern US. Will play again on our next trip to Orlando.
