SouthWood Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2017FAIRWAYS NEED HELP
Not sure what is going on but the last month I have noticed the fairways gaining more and more crab grass. Areas need to remedy fast before it gets out of control as fairway has become almost 30% crab grass. This is a great course and would hate to see it starting to go down. Greens and tee boxes are all in great condition otherwise besides a few spots on a couple of the greens.

I am writing this review for all out of towners who visit Tallahassee, you clearly cant play a better course in town that's public, the course is always in pristine condition and is good for any golfer with low to high experience having multiple tee sets to choose from, minimal water on course and wide fairways. Greens are fast and tricky so I would recommend hitting the practice green for a good 20-30 minutes to adjust to the speed. Prepare yourself for the 4th hole, 600 yard par 5 that takes every bit of 3 shots to make it on the green(I want to see someone reach this monster in 2), once you make it through this beast the next 3 holes #5-7 offer scoring opportunities.

Course has several challenging holes but also supply several birdie holes especially one of the par 4's on the back that is reachable in 1 but best option is to layup with a fairway wood or low iron and leave a wedge in. Fairways and tee boxes were in great condition and the greens were rolling pretty good as well.

The course offers challenging fairways but the greens could use a little better care.
