Camelback Golf Club - Padre Course
Played On 09/24/2017Always a pleasure
Camelback never fails to satisfy. Of course, great practice facilities; amiable staff, cart service frequent and pleasant, and 2 courses that are both fair and challenging. The greens were lightening fast and true. which is good, Once over-seeding is completed in a couple weeks, Camelback will be pristine! I look forward to several more rounds on the Padre and Ambiente during the winter season.....thanks...grw
Camelback Golf Club - Padre Course
Played On 01/19/2016Great afternoon
A last minute decision to play the PADRE course and, for the time of the year, a very good rate. Of course, the check-in was pleasant and off to a great range to warm-up. The Padre was outlined by dormant grass making the Emerald green fairways look even greener!
The course was in remarkable condition and the greens like lightening. DO NOT, IF YOU ARE ABLE TO AVOID, GET ABOVE THE HOLE......wonderfully fast and true greens. (We asked the cart service if they knew the speed and they said that they are not given that information but they felt the PADRE was running at "11" and AMBIENTE, even faster.) Very well-kept bunkers. We found the course a wonderful upgrade from some of the other local popular courses. Pay bit more and play a beautiful course; incredibly maintained.
We are looking for another day and another good rate to get back.
Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course
Played On 07/31/2014Welcome Addition
Ambiente is a welcome addition to the Phoenix area golf scene as we waited, quite some time, for the course to be re-done. The links-look and feel is a nice change to desert golf. There was not a bad lie on the fairway and no bare spots as can be this time of the year. The greens are large, fast, and undulating and, in my opinion, the courses "protection". As super seniors (over 65) we played from about 6200 yards and the course is very playable at that yardage. Again, outside 30', the greens can be monsters. Good sand in the bunkers and very consistent, unlike most of the area courses, this time of the year. They are sandy and not crusty. Bring a drink; as water stops are few and far between. Management has put large coolers on several tees filled with bottled water. We have played, now, four times and look forward to having Ambiente on area "rota" as a place we enjoy playing. Of course, Camelback is an historic resort and a great place to, not just golf, but experience good food and a great atmosphere.
Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club
Played On 7/9/2013A relaxing and enjoyable place to play
Our group plays Silverado with some degree of frequency. I would say, 10 times a year. It is in our "rotation" of about 4-5 courses that we frequent. It is, usually, in good condition and it is good dollar value, for Scottsdale. It is wide open course that affords the luxury of good scoring. Of the courses we play, it flatters our games and is considered, by far, the easiest. But, it is a fun course, where we do not have to stress about desert balls or unplayable hazards. In particular, during the hot summer months, it is a true bargain. Since my son has just begun taking golf seriously, it is a very good place for us play, together. Unfortunately, Silverado does not have a range and that is it major defect.....We like it and will continue to play there.
Thank you so much for your feedback! The greens are indeed rolling at an 11- we are glad you enjoyed them as well as the service.
