They got me again BEWARE

Every time I decide to give this course another chance, it’s a miserable failure. The course’s drainage is abysmal. I live right by this course and know the amount of rain we’ve received is not equal to the SWAMP this course always is. Fairways were water logged. Greens were horrible. Looked as if every green was hit with a hammer 10,000 times. No one repairs ball marks including the “greenskeepers”. Huge patches of dirt all over every green. It’s like putting thru a mine field. I will NEVER play this course again. The prices they charge are highway robbery. So many other choices around town that beat this course 100 to 1.

Always in good shape!

Course was in very good shape. Definitely worth the money. Pace of play is usually a bit slow but not too bad. Pro shop staff is very accommodating and super nice. We had to leave the course on hole 5 because of an emergency and upon throwing our clubs in the car, the pro shop attendant came out to inquire why we were leaving. We told him and he immediately went in to issue us a rain check without us asking. Total class act. Thank you “Crash”! We will definitely be back to use that rain check.

Skip Eastwood

Let me start by saying I am rooting for Eastwood because I have always loved the layout and it used to be a marquee course in East Orlando. But, the reality is that it’s just not in good shape. The greens are VERY good. You can tell they have spent a lot of time on them. Unfortunately, they have completely ignored the rest of the course. The fairways are decent but the rough is just ridiculously long and thick. There were many holes where ankle deep rough was right at the green. Literally, ankle deep rough and 1” further was the beginning of the green. Tee boxes were ok. Pace of play was outstanding because it was a ghost town. We played in 3 hrs. Sad to see only 5 carts lined up outside the clubhouse. Thank goodness the back 9 was a bit better because I was ready to call it quits after 3 holes. Eastwood should stop concentrating so much on greens and pay more attention to fairways and rough. There is more to a golf course than nice greens.

Nice greens but that’s all

Anyone saying that Twin Rivers has improved 100% is delusional. The only thing that is marginally better are the greens and the traps. They are better than they used to be. The rest of the course is still awful. The fairways were torn up with huge wheel ruts everywhere. The course had lots of standing water everywhere. Yes, I know we’ve had a lot of rain but this is due to terrible drainage. The course just looks in disarray. I have stayed away from Twin Rivers for years because I have never had a good experience there. Today was no different. 5 1/2 hour round is inexcusable. I think I will scratch this one off my list again.

CJ,
Not sure if you are from the area or not .. but Oviedo has gotten a considerable amount of rain over the past few months leading to the wet conditions and unfortunate fairway rutting.
I play this track at least once a week for almost two years, it is in fantastic shape! Has had a chance to dry out, and the greens still rock!
I would recommend you give it another shot. Is a great track, the more I play it the more I love it.

AVOID THIS COURSE!!!

Rich in history but poor in everything else. I'll start by saying I understand this is an OLD course but the conditions are unplayable. They do not spend $1 on maintenance. The "fairways" were nothing but weeds. I almost lost 3 teeth fillings from the millions of potholes all along the cart path and the so called fairways. The gentleman in the clubhouse couldn't even bother to change the pin placement card that was 6" from him. I would not play this course again for free and if it was at the end of my street. Save your money. Anyone who says it is a value for the money is in denial.

Folks, pay NO attention to this review. cjkrause obviously has an issue with the staff at Mayfair. The only things I agree with are the bumpy ride on parts of the course and a surly pro shop attendant who was working yesterday (5/8/17) when we played. Me and my golfing family have played 70+ courses in Central Florida and Mayfair is right up at the top of the best value courses in the area. The tees and fairways are perfectly fine, not equal to $50 - $100 courses but at $25 or less for green fees, they are certainly playable. The greens on the other hand are FANTASTIC and easily comparable to the above mentioned overpriced courses. Play it, you won't regret it.
