Widgi is a Great Value and Great Fun

We played five courses in the Bend area (Tetherow, Pronghorn, Brasada Ranch, Crosswater, and Widgi) and Widgi was our final round. It's a fun layout and by far the tightest course we played of the five. It would serve you well to get a course map before you tee off. I lost a lot of shots just because I was not sure where to aim. Also, bring your 3 and /or 5 wood. You will need it off the tee.

Top Shelf

Just played the Pronghorn Nicklaus course. We played five courses in rhe Bend area (Tetherow, Crosswater, Brasada Ranch, Widgi Creek and Pronghorn), and this one was our favorite. It was a blend of Tetherow and Crosswater. Immaculate conditions (not a blade of grass out of place), beautiful layout and great views. We would play this again in a heartbeat.

Crosswater - A Real Beauty

For background, we played five courses on our golf trip to Bend (Tetherow, Crosswater, Pronghorn, Brasada Ranch and Widgi Creek). I would recommend all of them, including Crosswater. This course is simply a beautiful layout that was a joy to play. It's a very good test and immaculately maintained from perfectly shaped tee boxes to greens that roll truer than true. The fairways are generous; this is definately a second shot course.

A Rugged Masterpiece (with an asterisk)

Stayed and Played at Tetherow. First, if you are looking for a place to "stay and play" in the Bend area, this is it. The lodging is superb, and the views of the course are spectacular.

As for the course, I absolutetly loved it. It is a rugged beauty that has one "signature" hole after another. We played five courrses in the Bend area, and this is the only one where I can remember ALL of the holes. The ONLY reason I did not rate it higher is because the greens are not good - they used a certain herbicide to kill off poa and it backfired on them. Most greens are ok; some are not very good at all. Having said all of that, I would still play it again.
