Played On 07/04/2015Mediocre- Executive
Practice range is decent, but course is a VERY short executive. Hasn't rained in a while here so some fairways rolled like concrete. Par 4s were almost all drivable. Pace of play was horrendous, but expected for an Exeuctive on a Saturday I guess. No beverage carts in 30degree weather is also unacceptable IMO. Do not waste your money on a cart here. In this area Mccleary, Fraserview, langara represent better value at a slightly higher cost and are full courses. I gave them a 3 overall, but there was no option for a 2.5.
Northlands Golf Course
Played On 06/29/2015Challenging Mountain Course-
This is a challenging course for my game, it's one of the hardest tracks I've played in the area. A true mountain course you will never have a flat lie, it plays long and will reward the long straight hitters. I play here once a month and can't say I've played a tougher front 9 before. I've been lucky to play some of the so called tough private clubs around and IMO this plays harder. Greens have lots of break and you'll rarely get a favourable pin placements. Food in the clubhouse is decent and has a great view overlooking 18 and 1. For me this is a cart mandatory course. Scary course for a higher handicapper, but a ton of fun. Recommend to anyone looking for a challenge.
Allenmore Golf Course
Played On 06/19/2015Tremendous Value.
Friends and I were in town to watch the US Open at Chambers Bay, most courses were booked solid months in advance, we were lucky to get a tee time at Allenmore on a days notice at an amazing rate through GN. Clubhouse was nice, range was short, but perfect for a quick warmup. Good selection of food and Bev in the clubhouse and on the course. Course played Well, not super long but definitely some challenging holes. This was likely the only course in Tacoma that didn't jack their rates up for the US Open. Recommended if you're in the area.
