Grand Oaks Golf Club
Played On 02/08/2015Course was dormant, but how could you tell?
Was probably a great course in the previous decades... It appears as if no one has taken an interest in maintaining this tight course. Yardage markers in the non-existent tee boxes were covered or completely off. Fairways were deadpan soil, bunkers were 1 inch of sand over Texas black clay.
One positive was the postage stamp greens and the undulations that made putting interesting.
Used to be a nice course it appeared, but those days are long gone for what they ask for green fees.
Too many other great courses nearby to pay green fees on a cow pasture... I will not be back.

Excellent golf experience for the Country Club of Country Clubs in Charleston, SC. From the bag drop, free range balls, friendly staff, all the way to the club cleaning after the round... Excellent "Pampering"!

Played On 6/18/2013Top Dressed Greens - Only front Nine Open
The course has great views and I had heard about the wonderful 17th hole overlooking the Charleston harbor... However, I was informed the front nine greens had been top dressed and the back nine was closed to prepare for top dressing. Huge disapointment!
Obviously, having to play the front nine twice with top dressed greens was not worth the required fees.
Thank you for the kind comments. We try to be as reasonably priced as possible as we want to share the beauty of this course with everyone. We are excited to have the new GPS system that can email your scorecard or even post to Facebook, if you dare!
