Short but narrow

Both my partner and i were hitting the ball well only to see it run off into the thick bushes. No chance of finding them . Between us we lost over a dozen balls.

A good walk not spoiled by golf

A clear sunny day with plenty of golfers itching to get out. Tee time was within minutes of the time booked. A good starter and rangers out making sure no hpld ups. Course in great shape, with receptive greens. Fairways well defined. Round ended well for me and my playing partner. He parred and I birdied the 18th. A first for both of us on that very difficult hole.

morning round at Summerfield

The tee boxes were in good shape, fairways well drained for a course laid out through marshland. Large greens were fast with a few contours on each and pin placements making for the need for good shots if you want to make par. Our 4 some made it round in under 4 hours even though losing the occasional ball in the trees/scrub lining many of the fairways.

change overoverpast 15 yrs

Last played here 15 yrs ago and found it in much better condition than before though 2 of the greens were under reconstruction. It was early morning and courselves emptier than a private club. Completed my round under 3 hours even though I spent time looking for balls in the rough after hitting some of the trees along the narrow fairways. I will come here again as its a great deal when compared to other cpurses in Miami.

Take plenty of balls

Course was in great shape. With all that water and savanna I expected to lose more balls than I did. Luckily I found fairways most of the time. My high handicap partners didn't fair so well. Course is not for learners not even from the White tee boxes. I will play there again but don't expect my 2 buddies will.

problem at the course

It wasn't until I arrived that I found out only 9 holes on the course were open. Very disappointed.

Keys Gate - What Greens?

Had a warning from the pro in the shop that the first 3 greens were not in good shape. In fact they were hardly distinguishable from the rough, except had many bare patches. Most of the other greens also had bare patches and to say they were preparing for a competition the next day they were not in very good shape, most were also very small and all were in need of water and aeriation. Fairways were not too bad. Only lost a couple of balls in the ponds around the course from my bad shots but also lost a couple in the short rough even though both the guy I was paired with and myself spotted the area where my ball had landed. We also found ourselves behind a group of 7 players one of whom was walking. Not once did the loan ranger out on the course ask them to split up. Luckily ? My playing partner spent a lot of time looking for his ball (Don't think he had a handicap) so we only had to wait on a couple of the tee boxes.

For the price it was fine

Course has dog legs in both directions which helps make it interesting. Greens need plenty of work as do the bunkers some of which looked as if not maintained for months.
