Rams Hill Golf Club
Played On 12/11/2020Worth the trip!
You will not be disappointed when you make the trek to Rams Hill, unless you were expecting to see Bighorn Sheep on the course. The ride into the clubhouse was scenic, and the starter was friendly and let us know about all the amenities(golf and otherwise). The staff in the Clubhouse was also friendly, and the structure itself is very nice! If only we could have had a bite after the round while overlooking the course(Covid restrictions). The course is fair, fun, and the greens are challenging as well. I was very good at leaving myself in the wrong place early in the round which made for some very tough up and downs. Tee boxes are great, greens are great, and within a couple weeks the over seed will grow in very nice in the fairways I'm sure. If this course was in a more populated area, we would not have played it as the price point would have been $40-75 higher. Take the time and go play here, and enjoy the time away from the rest of the World.
Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 12/09/2020Great Wednesday for golf
Course is well designed, with ample room for your tee shots. Fairways are undulating, but very fair. Greens are also designed well, with bunkers coming into to play throughout the course. Course is well worth playing, and we had a great time. Very limited amenities with the recently mandated shut down in effect.
Cathedral Canyon Golf Club
Played On 12/07/2020Average course at a decent price
Getting into the course was a mess as the person ahead of us at the gate could not get in. Norine(sp?) was very helpful in explaining everything about the layout as it was our first time at this facility. Putting and Chipping Greens are average(size, design, and condition), Driving Range a little less than average, but is just fine for warning up. Course was wet, but not soaked, from watering to help the overseed grow and take hold. Fairways were in OK shape, Tee Boxes were the same, Bunkers were very wet, and Greens rolled pretty good for them looking like the grass was a little sparse. The course will probably be a bit better in a couple weeks. No food available(on a Monday), which was disappointing as it would be nice to support them through a carryout order. Worth playing if you get a good price, but don't set your expectations too high and you will enjoy yourself.
Golf at the Legacy
Played On 06/03/2017This golf course has a wide variety of hole designs, with most holes having an area where you can miss the fairway, and still be in OK shape on that hole. The scenery/look of the course is pleasant, and there are a couple risk/reward holes including #1 if you are a big hitter. The pace of play on a beautiful Saturday morning was outstanding, and has been pretty good most times I have played here. I drive 45 minutes to play here with a family member, and it is worth checking out if you live in the area.
del Lago Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2015Well worth the drive!
Excellent layout, challenging greens(not ridiculous tough), friendly staff, and fantastic views. The course was more than we could have hoped, for all the reasons listed above. We teed off about 25 minutes late(scheduled at 1:45), and we finished the 18th hole in the dark because of this, but really enjoyed the experience other than that. More water than you would expect from a desert course. Water came into play on some holes, but was not a dominant theme here. Pace of play was slow(on a Tuesday), but it was an excellent weather day so it was expected a little. You will enjoy!
North at Randolph Golf Course
Played On 02/17/2015Nice Morning at Randolph North
Nice Municipal course with very nice staff. Course was in better shape than Club West(played day before this), and enjoyed the layout of the course. There is not a "true" set of red tee boxes(Red tees are 5900 yards), so people that are used to playing these should play the Dell Urich course which is located on the same directly next to the North course. Tree lined on some holes, not a desert course, but more like you would see from a traditional course.
