Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 05/09/2017We played the Palm Course, me for the second time, my partner for the first. We found it an interesting and fairly forgiving layout...lots of sand and water to add to the challenge, wide fairways to keep scores in check. Two complaints. Many of the greens (we didn't keep score) are in poor shape in spots, smooth and almost diseased and a strange color of green (almost turquoise). If we'd pay much more than the GolfNow rate of $38, but sometimes you get what you pay for. And after we finished, when the cart guy asked if we'd like our clubs taken out front, we said sure and my partner gave him five bucks. When we walked to the driveway, the clubs were sitting unattended, the cart guy was long gone and the clubs were filthy — he hadn't even wiped them clean, as every cart person does. The message: Ask to make sure he's going to clean your clubs in advance, or don't give him tip. Considering the friendliness and attention to detail by everybody else encountered at this course, this was disappointing to say the least.

Played On 1/30/2013Balanced and interesting course
This course has something for everybody. Not too easy but not too difficult (it has its moments of both). Some sand, but not too much. Some water, but not too much. Some trees, but not too many. Everybody seems to enjoy this course. The only complaint you'll hear is that the greens can be slow and it's not always in top condition...like how can you have large puddles on cart paths when it doesn't rain. This is not a course you're likely to get tired of playing.
