About
Golf gets me through life.
When I'm not working, I'm at the golf course as much as I can.
I don't play in leagues or anything - it kind of scares me, honestly - but I'd much rather spend $40 to enjoy 3 hours out in nature than go sit in a dark movie theater.
Golf might make me swear sometimes, but I love it!

Hobble Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/23/2016A Magical Course in Hobble Creek Canyon
This is by far my most favorite course here in Utah. The well-kept course, the rippling river intertwined throughout the course, the unique holes make this one worth every star. The pace of play has never been an issue for me and oftentimes when I play, I feel like I'm playing in nature without a care in the world.
I'd highly recommend this course - at $15 for 9 holes, you can't beat the quality of greens, the beauty of the course or the service at the shop. I'd keep it secret if I could but it's a gem and I hope you get to enjoy it as much as I do.
Timpanogos Golf Club - The Pasture Executive Course
Played On 05/31/2016Great for practice with friends
If you're looking for a serious course to master your skills, this one isn't quite that. I like to call it the sandlot version of the Championship course. You can't beat the price but still, for a few dollars more, you can go and play holes that will lead you to the next hole instead of being lost in a field of grass scratching your head about where to go next.
Great to take little kids to get some practice but this isn't your place if you want a more organized tee shot with distance markers.
Logan River Golf Course
Played On 05/07/2016It's A Tough Cookie Of A Course
I was super excited when I arrived to play this lush course in Logan. It was pretty wet and saturated because of all the rain we've been having lately.
Don't let this place fool you, it's tough. Lots of marshland and water everywhere! I lost a ton of balls since you can't really walk into the areas with the 7-foot tall reeds. It's ok, it's super cheap to play ($12!) and it's great for practicing your game.
You can even see fish in the crystal clear ponds when you walk by to see if you can see the ball you lost.
Definitely recommend but not my all time favorite!
Nibley Park Golf Course
Played On 04/30/2016Great Little Course in the Middle of SLC!
Of all the Muni courses in SLC, this is our go-to course. The pros are friendly and we can often show up and get right on the course. Pace of play is much better than other courses in the area (ie Forest Dale).
Big trees line the course so that's pretty nice to have in case of errant shots. This course mostly consists of par 4's so you can bring out the driver and let it rip.
The rain this season has really helped out the conditions and the greens were pretty nice. A lot of beginners like to come here and play for fun so leave your etiquette at home and don't expect much.
The 9th hole is a par 3 that you have to hit over the pond - always fun! It's a great little ending to a satisfying round of golf.
Glendale Golf Course
Played On 02/20/2016A Great Local Course
I played Glendale this past weekend and had a great time -- we were paired up with a nice couple for a wonderful game of golf. It was the first golf of the season (we were so happy Glendale opened up!) and while it was a little cold, we had a great time. Respectful people and large practice green. I'd recommend Glendale for a round of local golf.
Not my favorite course but it's still a good time.
Ridge at Mulligan's South
Played On 08/28/2015A Cheaper Course Good For Practice Rounds
I love Mulligans because it's a great place to go spend $9 for 9 holes of golf. It's basically just open area so not the best layout.
If you just want to go somewhere super cheap to practice your golf, this is the place. They can guarantee that there will be a tee box and a green with a cup in it.
Other than when I want some super cheap practice, I don't make a trip out here.
Forest Dale Golf Course
Played On 07/15/2015Great Course!
I loved playing Forest Dale! It was beautiful and green with fun holes to play. I loved the variation in each hole as well. Pace of play was pretty slow--there's even a sign saying 'not responsible for slow place of play' at the clubhouse.
As long as you don't get behind an inconsiderate person though, you're good! Will definitely go again.
Lake at Mountain Dell Golf Course
Played On 07/04/2015Bring A LOT Of Golf Balls With You!
This course was tough from the start - the first hole is headed downhill and there are huge bushes and trees lining the sides. If you mishit, your ball is good as gone on quite a few holes.
Lots of downhill play which means you have to rethink your clubs A LOT. It was definitely challenging - I haven't gone running back to play Mountain Dell because this course whipped me. I definitely need to brush up on some of my skills.
The views are stunning and it's fun to be up in the mountains playing golf, though.
If you're lucky, you might even catch a moose or two walking around in the distance.
I'd say definitely worth playing if you want to golf the mountains and don't want to pay too much!
Jordan River Par Three Golf Course
Played On 04/30/2015Jordan River Is Now A Frisbee Golf Course
Don't pack up your clubs and head over to this Par 3 because you'll be in for a big surprise. In 2015, Salt Lake City announced that this little course would be closing.
Now it's home to a frisbee golf course - which I think is pretty cool - but am sad that I can no longer go here to play and brush up on my short game.
