Palms at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 03/24/2015Never Again
The only reason I could even give the Palm course 1 star, is that the flowers are gorgeous. Started out with less than friendly staff in pro shop and the staff providing rental clubs. The starter seemed more cordial, until we attempted to reason with him after 9 holes. We were on a pace to play 18 holes at 5.5 to 6 hours. It was miserably slow. He argued that we were not on that pace (despite the math) and that there was no one holding us up on the back 9. We declined his offer to jump to the Valley course, as we had enough of this place. Upon returning the rental clubs my companion used and commenting that they really didn't work out that well, the staff trash talked my personal clubs. We did go into the proshop upon leaving and finally found a staff member with great customer service skills. He did comp us another round, but seriously....would we go back? Very unlikely! As a side note, the greens were in incredibly poor condition and smelled bad (fertilizer?).
