Canyon Lakes Golf Course & Brewery
Played On 01/29/2017Extremely slow play and poor fairway conditions
Not the ideal outing. Course conditions extremely poor. No drainage and fairways are nothing but grown weeds.
Los Amigos Country Club

Took us over 5.5 hours to complete the round. Extremely slow and no one managing the pace. Greens were definitely nice but the amount of time was draining
Spring Valley Golf Course
Played On 9/23/2013Great, Quiet Location & Decent Value
Overall, this is a great course nestled away in the hills above Milpitas. The holes are all very manageable and the course is maintained decently. Not a difficult course by any stretch but offers a great variety of holes/looks. The only downside that exists here is that you have to have more than 4.5 hours to complete a round. The clubhouse greed is in effect here; they book tee times just 7 minutes apart so be prepared to wait to tee off EVERY SINGLE HOLE!
Monarch Bay Golf Club - Tony Lema Course
Played On 5/16/2013not as easy as i thought...but great location/scenery
i was not prepared for the need to strategize my stroke for nearly every single hole, which was a very nice surprise. bunkers play a role in every single hole; i spent a good amount of time using the sand wedge. fairways are not as wide as some of the courses i've played on, so that added some additional complexity. the greens were running well and the course is maintained. i lost more balls in out of bound areas than i have ever...
for the price you pay, i would definitely recommend this course...it offers a great layout, challenges on many holes, and just a great overall experience.
Rocklin Golf Club
Played On 4/13/2013Old course, but still decent for average golfers
I was a little taken back by how aged the clubhouse looked on my drive up; generally, that is one of the showcase pieces of any golf outing, so i began the day a little concerned with what the quality of the course was going to be...
It was also a little surprising that the first 9 only had one par 3; most of the holes were fairly straight forward, not too much activity. The greens looked like they were very dry and needed a little attention, but overall the course design was commensurate with the fees. I would recommend this to any beginner/intermediate player, but definitely not to anyone that's been playing for a while.
Cypress at Sunol Valley Golf Course
Played On 4/7/2013Simple Course & Great Scenery
Sunol Valley golf course is perfectly situated between hills/mountains, which makes for a phenomenal view. A few times you can stop and truly appreciate the landscape. As far as the course, we played the Cypress; it is by far one of the most simple layouts - ideal for beginners. I would say 15 of the 18 holes were fairly straight forward. Not too many dog legs, no water hazards, just a few holes where you should a little in the blind. Overall, I would recommend this course to beginner and intermediates.
Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club
Played On 4/5/2013This course is LOUD!
Overall, it was a great value. The course layout is a little more difficult than moderate; most every hole seemed as if was a dog leg lef/right. All in all, a good course to play on for the price. The huge downside of this course is the sound level. The construction of the 49ers stadium, airplanes flying right overhead every 5-10 minutes, the freeway and probably the most annoying piece was the lawnmower being driven in front of us for the first 4 holes (at 11am one would think the grass would've been already cared for).
Summitpointe Golf Course
Played On 2/28/2013SummitPointe is in dire need of repair
Overall, this course needs a lot of work with the fairways and greens. Additionally, although we haven't had any rain in months, the course was saturated with water on many fairways and greens. There is absolutely no consistency or quality in this course. Being that it is nestled between homes worth millions, I was surprised the care and maintenance to the course was so poor.
Morgan Creek Golf and Country Club
Played On 1/20/2013Overpriced & Undercared for course
I was quite disappointed in Morgan Creek's maintenance. Every fairway and green needed attention. Although the course was challenging and set in a serene environment, the course maintenance was just not up to par. Fairways were heavily marked with divots; with no one caring to repair. Similarly the greens were all marked up as well and needed attention. I paid $60 per person which I felt was significantly overpriced.
I can't see myself playing here until they manage this course a bit better. Certainly has all the elements to be a great course; now if the clubhouse would just spend a little to get the upkeep done.
