Black Mountain Golf Course
Played On 03/04/2024Off-Season Golf
The territorial views here are very nice, particularly in the fall.
Course conditions are pretty iffy in the winter months, but it's convenient to where we live and reasonably priced.
We've never been paired with other golfers who weren't pleasant.
Note on "advanced" - not just my age, but lots of experience in many parts of the country and at some very nice golf courses.
Chardonnay Golf Club
Played On 05/03/2017Many Great Holes
I played an early morning round as a single and got around in less than three hours, thanks also to a couple of foursomes that had me play through. I was happily surprised with the overall course design. I didn't feel there were any gimmicky holes, and the five sets of tees should suit anyone. The course conditions were very good; the greens all rolled about the same and were quite smooth. There was quite a bit of elevation change. There is a lot of space between some of the holes, which coupled with the elevation change and the heat of the day would make it a difficult course to walk - I'm not sure if walking is supported there. The only bad condition I observed related to the bunkers, which previous golfers had not raked out, nor had they been groomed by the staff. It's unfortunate enough to find yourself in a bunker, let alone in a deep heel depression that makes the next shot very difficult to play well, right?
I also appreciated that there were quite a few water coolers in place with icy-cold, fresh, water. So many courses have funky-tasting water that make you wonder if the coolers have ever been cleaned.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the facilities were spotless, On the whole, a great golf experience; I'll be back.
