The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes
Played On 09/09/2016Great track and very profesional
I really enjoyed playing this golf course, it was in great shape and bottles of water on every other hole was welcome in the 90 degree heat. I will definitely be back!
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 04/23/2016Beautiful Golf Course
Played ChampionsGate Country Club on April 23,2016. Unfortunately there was a tournament out before us so the pace of play was agonizing. Several groups ahead of us quit after hole 10 as there were 8 groups on holes 10 and 11. Finally on hole 14 the director of golf came out and told us the the slow groups had been removed and that he would do something for us for next time (we did not get a chance to see him again). It did not seem to increase the pace of play and we finished in 5 hours, 20 min!
I want to be fair because this golf course is absolutely beautiful and fun to play. The members here that we talked to are very friendly and the starter that day was former PGA touring pro John Crocker. John is a Newfoundlander in every respect and got the day off to a great start. I would definitely play this course again if I get the opportunity.
Shingle Creek Golf Club
Played On 04/22/2016Very Dissapointing
Shingle is one of my favorite golf courses and we play it every time we travel to Orlando. It is on the upper end of our budget at just over $100.00 but we have always found it a good value. The course is closing at the end of this month for redesign and they have not over-seeded or maintained the course to its usual perfection. They are spray painting many fairways and around greens to try to give some contrast for making shots. Listen, I'm all for that but if your going to keep a facility open for a few more weeks that is not anywhere up to scratch...don't charge regular rates. I was so embarrassed to take 3 friends there who had never played and whom I convinced this course was worth the extra money. I was shocked at the whole situation and felt like it was just a money grab by a usually top notch golf facility. This whole situation was made worse by the fact that we had previously played 3 or 4 other golf courses in pristine condition for a lot less money. Unfortunately, Shingle Creek is no longer on my list of places to play and I'm happy I have understanding friends.
