Timacuan Golf Club
Played On 04/22/2017The good, the bad, and the ugly
The good: greens are great And the fairways were average. The bad: tee boxes either had long grass or no grass. Women's tees were neglected. The service was poor. I'll explain. We had a threesome in front of us, on each tee they waited for the threesome in front of them to reach the green before teeing off. This included par 4s and par 5s. I called the pro shop at 12:16 on the fifth hole and spoke of the problem with Stephen. Stephen said he had no ranger on the course but would get someone out there. At 2:16 a twosome of members behind us, quit due to slow play. They called the pro sop and someone finally came out and spoke to the threesome. Whomever came out did not follow up and the practice of waiting on the tee until the group in front reached the green continued. The ugly: 5 hour round with a belligerent member threatening to wrap a golf club around my head for complaining.
Bent Creek Golf Course
Played On 08/17/2014Good choice
My wife and I played on a Sunday Morning, and were allowed to walk the course. The pace of play was very slow, with a twosome in front of us in a cart, and a threesome in front of them. Four and a half hours, we usually walk a course in a little less than three. The course was in good shape, but the greens were slow for such a nice course. The staff was friendly and made it appear like they wanted us there. Playing from the tips was manageable because the fairways are generous. There are a few par 4's of 440 yards or more. But the par 3's are playable at their distances. We enjoyed the course.
Hyde Park Golf Club
Played On 08/16/2014Great for the price
Played on a Saturday with my wife. I got a deal on Golfnow for $17.50 each. Upon arrival the clubhouse staff was friendly and engaging. The course appeared packed but they allowed us to go early. The greens were very consistent, a few had minor issues which didn't interfere with our game. Overall, I highly recommend Hyde Park.
