Misty Creek Country Club
Played On 12/14/2017Overall great golfing experience
If you play there for the first time it will be a good challenge as the greens are pretty fast and can get difficult if you are above the hole. Nice layout. Bunkers garding the greens are well maintained. The staff is very friendly. I have already booked another round.
The Highlands Golf Course
Played On 12/07/2017Great value
First hole does not reflect this course. It becomes a great course as you play through. Enjoy!
Sarasota National Golf Club
Played On 12/06/2017Wide fairways
Just perfect for someone who has’nt touch a club in over a month. Lots of house construction going on but don’t let that prevent you from going there. Make sure you add this course on your list.
Club de Golf Mont Ste Marie
Played On 06/03/2017Less than an hour from downtown and worth the drive
Mt-Ste-Marie is pretty mountainous on the front nine. From the white tees its over 6200 yards. It was in very decent shape considering the wet spring we had. A lot of elevated greens and tee boxes, uphill blind shots, hidden water hazards, lots of carry so somewhat difficult to pull out the right club. Undulating fast greens guarded by bunkers. You really need to play the course a few times before you can figure out where to lay up to get the yardage right. Some golfers walk the course but I recommend that you cart it and keep your strength to finish as best as you can. I will be back, that's for sure ...
Cypress Course at Stonegate Golf Club
Played On 12/14/2015Great discovery
First time there and was a treat to play. Course plays quite long, so if you decide to play from the back tees, make sure you can carry at least 265. Wide fairways and strategic bunker placements around the greens make it
more of a challenge. Geens were a bit unpredictable but hey, this time of year is to be expected. If I had one issue ( gotta have one) they should at least identify the centre/150 yard marker to the green. It would help set up the tee shot better.
eQuinelle Golf Club
Played On 08/10/2015Great course to pull out that "driver"
Generous and plush fairways, great bunkers and large undulating greens. Reachable par 5's.
Note: Red blocks on the No. 1 Tee box - Almost impossible to hit a tee-shot over the water/marsh ( standing 6 feet tall - 10 wards away, must carry 130 yards - very intimidating first shot, especially for the high handicapper. The tee box should be moved over to the fairway ... period!
Also, when maintenance repairs are being done, (punching greens) they should inform the public or offer some kind of last minute discount. A touch of courtesy can go a long way ...
I'll give it another go, I'd like a chance to play the course as it was intended to be played.
