Ventura Country Club
Played On 11/17/2016Beautiful Community and Golf Course
What a nice surprise! The condition of the course is immaculate. The greens did not have a blemish except for unrepaired ball marks made by inconsiderate players. Don't let the total yardage fool you. It is a par 70 so imagine about 400 more yards to get the pictures. Some difficult par threes an fives. Tee shot over water on 13 a bit too much for short hitters. Easily the best conitioned course we have played in Orlando. And, by the way, stay AWAY from the traps; beautiful, white, powdery sand and very difficult to get out!
Remington Golf Club
Played On 11/16/2016Another Course experiencing Economic Difficulties
Great layout and greens on the backside much better. It is obvious the club has been victimized by the downturn in golf in the country. One can tell this was once a top flight community and golf course. Beautiful trees throughout.
Kissimmee Bay Country Club
Played On 11/14/2016Worth the Money
I feel badly for this type of golf club. You can tell that this was once a great facility. But time and conditions have passed it by. It is clear that the downturn of play around the country has created difficulty for a course like this to survive. Further, golf course communities like this with really nice facilities have suffered. One can tell that this was once a very nice course but now it is in poor condition and one of the reasons too is that the residents nearby have aged out of golf. Nevertheless, it is a facility worth going to for the price offered. It is a difficult track. It is not in good condition but playable.
Winter Pines Golf Club
Played On 01/26/2016This course is for high handicappers, beginners or those with 5 hours or more to play!
This was an agonizing round that we cut short after 5 and 1/2 hours with five holes to go! It is a strange combination of par 36 front and 31 back with some par 3 holes at or near 200 yards. The pro shop is friendly, but the ranger has no control over a crowded course filled with terrible golfers. It is a good venue for people with lots of time, beginners and high handicappers, but not the accomplished golfer.
Crane's Bend at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 1/25/2013Easy enough for a beginner with some challenges for an advanced player
This is a 9 hole course. Nice course for beginners. There are a couple holes that do present a challenge. The condition is very good and the staff friendly. I took our daughter and son-in-law there because they are beginners.
Dubsdread Golf Course
Played On 1/17/2013The course is very senior friendly with distances.
Very senior friendly. A real bargain. The course marshals do need to be more attentive to slow players and either move them along or let others through. Pin placements were very difficult on some greens. The course dates back to the early 20th century and has lots of tradition. Food prices a tad too high though!
