Oaks National Golf Club

I've always liked Oaks national and hoped it would garner enough business to remain open and stay in good shape, but it's really missed the mark lately. The course was absolutely soaked, and there's clearly no drainage anywhere. The fairways were swamps, and every bunker was a lake. The greens are very good as a result of them redoing them last year, but in order for the course to remain open and actually profitable they absolutely have to resod the entire course and become sand based. My friend and I played another course a few miles away the same day and the fairways were fantastic, so it's not just the weather. I really hope the course gets it together and turns things around. I can't possibly go back for another round unless there are massive changes done.

Pleasantly surprised

The course was three days old when I played it. Lots of logistics for the club to work out still(i.e. No clubhouse yet, no 150 yard stakes, no water in the coolers on the course, bathrooms weren't built yet, no suitable parking, no water in most of the hazards that are supposed to have water as indicated on the hole plaques at the tee boxes, etc.), but those are all fixable. The course itself is a great layout. Lots of hills for Florida and lots of visual tricks. Some bunkers appear to be in play but really aren't or don't appear to be in play but really are. The front nine was really enjoyable and was tucked away from all the homes in the community. The back nine was near a lot of the homesites, but it never felt intrusive or took away from the enjoyment of the layout. Course was in great condition, and greens were a very good speed. Still very firm, but were receptive enough to keep it very playable for most golfers. Although many of the fairways were quite wide, the course still provided a very adequate challenge, and after the hazards are all filled in with water, this will be a good test for all players. Overall a great day, and I was pleasantly surprised with the aesthetic beauty of the course. To me, it has a very different feel for many other courses in this area, and I believe that is a very refreshing change from the norm. Any time I can get a deal, I will definitely make the trip back.

Great natural surroundings

Harmony is a very nice golf course. There is a good amount of water in play, and there's a lot of beautiful scenery everywhere on the course. The greens were much improved this time around compared to the last time I played there. I took advantage of a tee time hot deal and I would absolutely recommend doing the same for everyone who gets that opportunity.

Very nice course, quality design.

The Waldorf is a very nice course. Very well maintained. The greens were cut a little long, which made the greens very grainy and not as true as I would have hoped.
