Shoal Creek Golf Course
Played On 11/28/2020Liberty Hills Golf Club
Played On 05/27/2019Soggy mess but playable.
Rain rain and more rain this Soring has taken a role on this course and others. Unable to mow and washouts are abundant. We need some dry weather so they can mow and repair. Tee boxes are really bad and bunkers were ponds. Like this at a lot of courses. Great friendly staff.
Lakeside Country Club
Played On 04/10/2019Fun time by 3 old men and the kid.
I booked this course through Golfnow. We were treated well and felt welcomed at this country club. Members were friendly and visited with us. Pro Shop staff very friendly. Older course that is forgiving if you land off the fairways.. tee boxes were a little bare but still a little early in the season. Greens were not bad but had a few rough spots. Cart path was rough. Tree roots have raised it up in spots and can be dangerous if not careful. Several holes over water and made for a challenging course for first timers. This course is favorable for one who may have difficulty getting around. We had one guy who is getting a hip replaced next month and he was able to get around pretty easily. Thanks Lakeside for letting us enjoy your course. Would love to play again.
The Preserve at Verdae
Played On 04/09/2019Visiting from Kansas City
Unfortunately the ground was to wet and was cart path only. Having 3 older guys this course was just to hard for them play more than 12 holes. Very narrow and hilly.
Hello. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Excelsior Springs Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2018Huge improvements
If you can look past the airport Being the club house and the horrible looking area at first tee, you will enjoy the course. Zoysia fairways are looking good. Newer carts that will move quickly. Super soft greens. The fairway roughs are way to tall. Lost several balls today when I knew they were in the area. Also found a few that others must not have been able to find. Course is challenging on certain holes and easy on others that help your score. I will be back.
Links at Northfork
Played On 08/24/2018Father/Son trip from Kansas City
Was welcomed at check in. Misty morning until hole 2. IT POURED! Was able to get a rain check for next morning. Course dried out surprisingly well. Greens were rolled that morning and they were fast. I have never played a Links course so this was a nice change of pace. Greens were in great shape. Fairways in good condition and even tee boxes were good. Took some great pictures of the bridge leading to club house. I would pay again if in the area.
Hodge Park Golf Course
Played On 01/08/2018Golfing in January.
Tee box ground and greens were frozen but after sub zero temps we were glad to.be out golfing.
Only problem is why is there a tree on the ground on 14. This tree fell down in the Spring of 2017 and it is still there. It doesn't interfere with play but has been an eyesore for way to long. I'm hoping they finally remove it soon!!!!
Hodge Park Golf Course
Played On 12/21/2017Ball thieves on #5, but I still shot my best score ever.
Fairways were dormant and greens were fast. But I still managed to shoot my best score ever. My second shot on #5 found the green only to have 2 young 10-13 year old boys run on and take my ball. Still had a blast for golfing late December. Fun cours.
Shoal Creek Golf Course
Played On 10/28/2017Cold but fun.
The course was still in excellent shape for being late season. We Played A different course in Kansas the day before that is known for playing long and it didn't even come close in comparison to Shoal Creek. Greens were soft and ball tried to stick but a few times rolled a little more than we wanted. Tee boxes and fairways were pretty good. Restocked my bag with several ProV1's I found looking for my ball. Pace was excellent for 12:20 tee time. Twosome in front and we were a twosome. Never had to wait all 18 holes. Love this course and my son and I will be back!!! This is our favorite course in Northlands. We saw several deer walking across course which is always cool to see.
Hodge Park Golf Course
Played On 09/16/2017SLOW PLAY BUT IT WAS SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Pace was absolutely terrible. Son and I got behind four 25 plus year olds who were learning golf. I have no problem with that. However driving carts up to the green on par 3'a and talking loud can be rude. We went around them on tee one as after 5 attempts and the ball only went 20 feet. We knew it was going to be a long day behind them. Once around them we hit another wall on #3. Two groups were waiting to tee off at 3. After 3 hours we finished front 9 and that was skipping #1. We went to 10 tee box and it was so backed up we went to hole 1 to play it since we had to skip it earlier. Went ahead and played 1-4 and called it quits. I should know better to play on a Saturday especially in the afternoon. I understand beginners need to practice and that is what was going on.
Whiskey Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/30/2017From Kansas City to watch baseball game.
My son and I came into town to watch our Royals play the O's. Checked reviews and felt Whiskey Creek was worth the drive to play. We were NOT disappointed. GolfNow tee time was worth the price. Free range balls and a chipping and putting greens were a bonus. GPS on carts was helpful even though it was cart path only. This course has a beautiful layout. Numerous elevation changes and views of hills in the distance. It was helpful to play with 2 local guys that knew the course. Marshalls kept teams moving and were friendly. Some tee boxes had a lot of divots. The fairways also were showing a lot of divots but this was probably due to the recent 5 inches of rain over 2 days. We have played in Mexico, Florida, Missouri etc and feel this is one of the top 10 courses for overall enjoyment. The views were just awesome. I would love to play here in the Fall when leaves are changing. Highlight of the day was playing hole 18. We had late tee off so we were pushing it to have enough light to play hole 18. Son and I were playing scramble and I sank birdie putt with just enough light to literally see the hole from 12 feet. We will be back.
The Deuce at the National Golf Club of Kansas City
Played On 06/30/2017Fun and challenging
Son and I played and had good time. Elevation changes came into play a few times. Slopes made some chips a little difficult. Tuff putting on some pin placements. Enjoyed the course and will return with Golfnow discount only.
Falcon Lakes Golf Course
Played On 05/24/2017Falcon Lakes is a hidden treasure.
We were greeted in club house and thanked for making the trip from Liberty, MIO area to play. Staff was extremely friendly and thankful for us trying the course. Fairways were wet from all the recent rain but we still were able to do 90 degree rule. (I was thankful for this as my knee was really bothering me!) Fairways were in great shape along with the tee boxes. Greens were fast and balls were sticking. Front 9 played easier for us and the housing around course was more present on from 9. Back 9 will be developing soon as construction was taking place. We let a single play through who was helpful in reading the green I was about to putt on. Thanks to him I got a par. My son and I will be back. The 30 minute drive is worth it. Fun experience for first time playing this course.
Thanks for your review and for playing Falcon Lakes! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Falcon Ridge Golf Course
Played On 04/16/2017First time and will be back.
Enjoyed golfing on a new course. Challenging but fu.n. Dreamed of owning one of the houses on the course. Play went fast and staff very friendly.
Deer Creek Golf Club
Played On 08/13/2016Nothing what I expected!
Worst tee boxes and greens I have played all 2016. Unrepaired divots. Dragged feet marks, dead spots on the greens. Tee boxes had bare dirt.
Fairways were ok but grass needed mowed bad off fairways and around greens.
I was expecting a nice course but was so disappointed . Drove from KC MO Northland and passed several courses up here that blow this course away.
I play here often and the course is great.
The dead spots you refer to is un repaired ball marks that get scalped by the mower in the morning. I always fix my ball mark and a few more to help
Fairways always look great, you probably just played on a day they were in the process of mowing.
. Only two holes have growing issues on the tee boxes. Hardly a problem for anyone who plays and appreciates plush fairways and smooth fast greens.
I do not know what you're talking about. The greens are perfect, except for ball marks that golfers don't repair. I assume you might be one of those golfers since you describe it as " dead spots"
When ball marks are not repaired by the golfer, they get scalped by the mower in the morning.
I play this course a few times per month. Smooth fairways and great tee boxes, except for a few that are a problem area.
I think #8 and #17. It's a tee box !! Smh
I love this course
WinterStone Golf Course
Played On 07/23/2016Wow.....Glad I was able to play it again.
It was hot but course was in excellent condition. Toughs were as green as possible and tee boxes were full and green. The greens were fast and in great shape. My sons first time to play and went back the next day with his buddy. I will be back soon!
Liberty Hills Golf Club
Played On 06/27/2016rough cart path course
Cart path is just horrible. This course must be struggling as club house remains a temporary mobile unit. Course has taken a beating with dry hot conditions we have had. Overall not one of my favorite for KC Northland courses. With discounted price it is barely worth playing. Probably won't be back for a while.
Tiffany Greens Golf Club
Played On 02/29/2016Leap Year day BONUS
First time to play and it showed. Many tee shots had to be placed right for 2nd shot. Layup or avoid bunkers came into play on this course. Early season made it a little difficult to get the ball up off the ground. I can't wait until the course greens up. Bring some extra golf balls as there are areas that will eat them up. I really wish GPS would be on the carts. That would help out a lot!!!
Thanks for the great review! Come back out and play again soon!
Hodge Park Golf Course
Played On 02/18/2016Hodge in February and 72 degrees. PRICELESS
Great day and nice course. One of KC best secret.
Shoal Creek Golf Course
Played On 10/14/2015Solo golfer
Very tough course to play by yourself. Many drives stop where you can't see and can't find ball if off fairway. Rough was too tall for an afternoon round. Should have been mowed by then. Got behind a four man scramble and wasn't told. They held me up all 18 holes. They couldn't let me play through as it was bunched all ahead of them. Greens still showed signs from aerating. I'll be back.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Liberty Hills Golf Club. We hope to see you again in the future.
