Reston National Golf Course
Played On 05/08/2021Needs work
The clubhouse was closed for renovations. That was not a big deal. There was a junior clinic going on that occupied the entire practice putting green. How about a little sharing. The fairways were in decent shape. However, the greens were not. The greens had been aerated not long ago. There were still lots of holes. Putting required a bit of luck with putts hoping off line and killing the speed. If the greens are going to be so bad then the rate you pay should be reduced. Or at least post a warning. I would not play there again for full price until the greens are back in shape.

A nice course. There were a few soggy spots in the fairway, but there had been recent rain. Nice scenic layout.
Rio Vista Golf Club
Played On 05/11/2019Nice cart paths
The nicest thing I could say about this course is that the cart paths are nice. I was told in the pro-shop that the bunkers were unplayable. That was an understatement. They were hard packed and full of weeds. The whole course was overgrown and poorly maintained. The fairways were dried out with the occasional over watered low area. The greens were recently aerated. Although the holes were mostly filled in, the greens were incredibly slow and very bumpy. I will not be playing there again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the course. I found myself driving down some country roads lined with corn fields. I wasn’t sure what I would find out here. The course was in very good shape from tee to green. The round took about 4 1/2 hours to play on a mid-week at mid-day. I would have liked a little quicker round. Other than that is was a great deal for the price. I would go back.
The Bridges Golf Club
Played On 10/20/2017On the hills of the Bridges
The fairways and the greens were in very good shape for this time of year. The round was a little slow at 4 hours and 45 minutes. The slow play was the group in front of us that was a hole behind and played from the back tee box with their 150 yard drives.
Lone Tree Golf Course
Played On 08/05/2017Lone Tree or Lone green?
The fairways at this course were in decent shape as was the rough. The greens left a lot to be desired. There were several temporary greens and the greens that were open were not in the best shape. So maybe a lone green out of 18 was up to par. The greens that were open had multiple bare spots and repaired areas. I would not have minded if there was an alert when I booked the round. It would have been nice if the the Pro Shop had a sign or told me about it when I checked in.

Played On 08/25/2014I played.......
I played and left. Never to return. The fairways and greens were in good shape. Overall the course was maintained very well. The problem was the lay out. There were several dramatic doglegs and just weird holes. The GPS was little help on these holes. I would get a distance to the green and major hazards. How about a distance to the dogleg or the end of the 2 piece fairway. It was Monday morning, but the cafe was closed on the turn. We were only able to buy a 20 ounce Coke for $2.75 each. A little steep. Are they competing with the movie theaters? Overall not a bad day, but I will not go back. Not worth the drive and the continuous airplanes overhead were distracting.

Beautiful course. Lots of trouble off the fairways. Move up a tee to really enjoy your round.
Smoky Mountain Country Club
Played On 05/19/2014Great Mountain golf
Overall a good experience. The fairways were grown in yet, but definitely playable. There were tee boxes under repair, and several more that should have been. Great views and challenging shots. Although the forth hole, with a blind second shot over a cliff, is a little gimmicky. A must if you are looking for mountain golf in Western North Carolina.
The Waynesville Inn Golf Resort & Spa - Dogwood/Blue Ridge
Played On 03/15/2014First round
This was my first round of golf at the Waynesville Golf and Spa resort. I had a good day. I am hoping that as the season goes on, the course will continue to improve. Cart paths could be confusing if not for the great signage. The views of the mountains are great. The views of some of the run down homes on the periphery of the course are not so good.
Glenmary Country Club
Played On 9/26/2013WORK NEEDED!
The course is in need of some work. The cart paths are full of pot holes and just missing in some areas. I played early in the morning so I expected some moisture. Moisture is an understatement. The place was down right soggy. You could hear the slosh of water under your feet as you walked in the fairway or around the greens. On an up note, the bunkers were nicely raked and the greens were well taken care of.
Covered Bridge Golf Club
Played On 9/18/2013Great experience
The course was in very good condition. The bunkers were wet and packed. The greens had recently been fertilized or something. There were small granules all over the greens that effected putting.
Thanks for the 4-star review! Be sure to book another round with us soon.
