Better value at other courses

The fairways were still mostly dormant and uneven. The sand traps were mostly unraked and some had hardly any sand, The greens were bumpy and sandy. The pro shop attendant and starter were friendly. The restaurant was good and the servers were great. But overall not worth even the Hot Deals price.

Course is in pretty good late season shape. Greens were firm and fairly fast. Fairways had a few baring spots.

Again

Good course layout in fairly good condition. Paired up with a nice twosome. Enjoyable round even though it took 5 hours for the round.

Back Again

First time playing this course in a couple of years. It's the longest in Colorado and has some of the hardest holes, but it is fun to play even for an average golfer. There were a couple of deadpan areas, mostly around traps and the traps could use some attention. The greens were a little bumpy. But could not beat it for the GolfNow price.

First Time

Course is short, but the Dye layout makes up for it with no such thing as a flat lie shot. Staff was wonderfully attentive and genuinely friendly. Pace of play was good - 3.5 hour round; could have been even quicker except there were a couple of slower playing twosomes ahead of myself a nice and friendly local named John that I joined up with on the 8th hole. Fairways were good considering the 100 degree heat. There were a couple of crunchy spots, but they did not effect play.

As good as it looked

My buddy and I drove out to course and looked at it a couple years ago. It looked like a good course, so decided we should play it the next time we got back to LV. It is a good course with a fair amount of undulations to make it challenging. Greens were in real good shape for the time of year. Carts appear to be fairly new, but could use GPS. Fairways and fringes were still green unlike other course played in LV this weekend (brown dormant fringes). Staff was nice but not as attentive as one would expect. Wait staff in restaurant were attentive and friendly.

Surprise in the Woods

Saw this course last year and decided I should play it when I was back in Deadwood. It is a great 9 hole course tucked back in the woods about 20 minutes outside Deadwood. Every hole provides a different and scenic view. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The course is in very good condition and can be challenging. Watch out for water on several holes, especially 17. My playing partner and I plan to go back again the next time we make it out to Deadwood.

Las Vegas Views

Not only is the course challenging and fun to play, the views are spectacular. From the clubhouse dining room you have an unobstructed view of the LV city skyline.

The track has many bunkers and natural hazards, not to mention a good share of waste hazards, but the landing areas provide a fair number of safe options. The greens are undulating and their speed can be somewhat inconsistent, but they are consistently hard.

The only downside was we were paired up with a member who insisted that we need to speed up play after the first hole even though the group in front of us had not cleared the landing zone on hole 2.

Definitely not a walkers course. There is a more than 1/4 mile hike between a couple of holes. But the views make it worth it.

Oasis

Drive about 1/2 hour outside of LV and you'll see the oasis that is Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. It is well maintained and the staff is wonderful. The rough is unforgiving and harsh (scarred two different clubs without even realizing there was rock under the rough grass). It was pretty windy when I played and the wind affected almost every hole. But still a great place to play, if you get a good deal.

Beat my buddy

PJ has 3 nine hole courses, we played the shortest. It was a good course to get in a good, quick round. Fairways were in great shape for late in the season and greens and tee boxes were also. My round was good enough to beat my buddy who I never beat, so it made it even better.

So good played an extra 9

Just off the LV strip (by yards), but so far away by experience. Felt like we were in Bali, not LV. Water, water everywhere; and if there is no water there is sand. The course is in excellent shape and plays great. A must play if you are playing in LV.

Plaing in Great Britian without crossing the Atlantic

Great replica course with 18 holes replicating some of the best British Open holes. The rough is appropriately thick and ugly and the bunkers are deep. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and appreciated.

Good start to 3 days of golfing

This was the first of four courses played over three days. Staff was great and course was in very good condition. Greens were a little slow, but overall the course was a good warm up and confidence builder for the next couple of days to come.

Fun course with lots of trees. Hit the ball with control or find yourself dodging trees, like me. Fairways are in great shape and greens are good, and mostly fast.

10 Holes

Liked the course, but only 10 holes (1 - 8, 11, & 12) were open. Would have been nice to know this when making the reservation. Want to go back just to play the holes that were closed. Most holes played were straight with wide fairways, but the sand bunkers and streams running through the course made it interesting. Really liked the short par 3 over the stream from a kind of elevated tee.

Tight but fair.

This links course has fairly narrow fairways so hit it straight. Many areas off the fairway is danger - water, protected wet land, cat tails, or worse. Overall course was fun to play. Cards are nice as there are a couple of holes with long walks from green to next tee box.

Nice day on a good course

Very few golfers on course, starter told us to go to the first tee and start whenever we wanted. (We were almost 2 hours early.) An older gentleman was at the tee and we joined him. Great idea. He was a local willing to share his wealth of course knowledge. Helped us play much better.

A single caught us and joined us. He was also a local and willing to help. Great course for a couple of out of towners.

What an Experience!

It was really a treat to play holes from 18 different courses from around the world without having to leave the course. I'm a long time golfer that has never gotten real good, but love to play the game. Bunkers on the back 9 were under repair, but who cares. Had a great time event finishing right at dark and in a slight drizzle.
