Sapulpa.... It's getting better.....

I wrote a review a while back that was not kind to the Managers of the course. They have stepped it up. The staff was efficient and took time to answer a few extra questions. They have a program that supports the local school Golf Program and it was this that my grandson played w/ me. Winter golf is never as easy as Summer conditions but the course was in pretty good shape. But it's still sneaky long and has much water. But it has a few holes you can score well if you hit good shots. Overall, it was a good day for golf at Sapulpa, in December.

Great Risk/Reward Course

Have you ever wished for a course where you could take the gamble to score really low. Well, this is your course. Several of the Par 4s are reachable under certain conditions. And no, this isn't some local Muny Pitch and Putt course. The terrain makes the holes. The elevation will change giving you a challenging uphill Par 5. Or the 200' drop of the signature #12 Par 3, locally known as Goat Hill. And while there are great rewards for outstanding shots, the hillside woods awaits less than excellent offerings. It is certainly worth playing whether you are a regular or just passing through the Tulsa area.

Had a great time

While it was a bit warm, we enjoyed our trip thoroughly. The staff was helpful, the concessions were reasonable. If only our golfing abilities had been up to their level. But it was a great day none the less. The course was well maintained. It had rained the night before, but it wasn't that muddy. Good drainage kept the course very playable. Our problem was we wanted to be dendrologists and check out every type of tree on the course. I think keeping the ball in the fairways would have been a better bet. My youngest even had an impromptu lesson from the Pop cart girl. And she was right correct, he was leaning over his ball to much at address. But a very good time, was had by all. Thank you for your hospitality.

Great Value at a Good Course

Sapulpa is a tougher course than most expect. It has sneaky length and water on 15 of the 18 holes as Rock Creek winds through the course. But the course is fair. The greens are fair. They are mowed and rolled very consistent. During the hotter months, some of the fairways take a beating, but that's normal around these parts. The course isn't hard to walk as it is fairly level. The prices there are solid. The concessions aren't over priced. And Dale and his staff do a good job making you feel welcome.
