Very playable course

This is a very playable course for the average golfer. The course is very well maintained. My only complaint would be that the greens are quite firm but that is typical for many inner city courses in Phoenix. The rough areas (sand and gravel) have very few bushes/trees. All in all the course is fair value.

Very well manicured course

The Lone Tree Golf Club is a very well maintained course. The course is very playable for the average golfer. The layout is fairly typical for an inner city AZ course - fairways played out between residential homes. The rough areas are very much devoid of vegetation- just sand and gravel. Greens are a little firm but well maintained and fairly fast. I would recommend playing this course.

Course worth playing in Phoenix

This course is worth playing - especially for the average golfer. The course is well maintained. The lay out is through a community of home like but is little more interesting then many in Phoenix. The green were in very good condition. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The pace of play was slow but this could be because so many tourist are here in the area for the Waste Management Open.
I would recommend playing this course.

Good Value Course

This the third time I’ve played this course in the past 5 weeks. There are quite a few good things about this course - interesting and challenging holes., fairways in good condition, mostly good tee boxes, good staff. The things I believe need improving: condition of greens and better practice facilities for warming up. Despite these issues I would recommend playing this course.

Fairly challenging course

This is the second time I’ve played this course in the past month. After playing 3 other courses in the Phoenix area this course offers the best value. The only downside to this course is the greens - some of the greens are patchy so putting can be a challenge. I would recommend this course.

Nothing Memorable About this Course

I played Coldwater several years ago and hoped it had improved. Unfortunately it had not. There is nothing memorable about this course. The fairways were quite good but all other areas were below standard. The course layout is fairly flat and through a neighborhood. Quite a few power poles/lines were a bit of an eye sour.

Well Maintained but Boring!

I played this course because it had an 83% recommendation on GolfPass as worth playing. I would not agree with this high recommendation. Yes - the course is quite well maintained - greens, fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers but the course is on a flat / square piece of property in the middle of Phoenix. The fairways just go back and forth with bunkers and a few water ponds being the only challenges. One of the most negative aspects of this course is the constant street noise. Sorry - even though the the course is well maintained - I would not recommend playing this course very often.

Challenging Course - Fair Value

Staff friendly and helpful, fairways were excellent, greens were inconsistent - some good condition, some poor, some fast, some slow, good bunkers,. Challenging course because so many holes were up hill - difficult to see where the pin placement was. You need to play this course several time or it can be frustrating to play.

Very Good Resort Course but Pricey!

The course was in pristine condition. The greens were fairly slow as they had recently top dressed them. The course is quite forgiving and playable. Quite pricey - I’ve played other courses in the US and Canada equal to this one for half the price of their green fee. Would I play it again considering the high green fee - probably not!

Extremely slow play ruined my enjoyment

I have played Starfire on numerous other days but my round was spoiled by the extremely slow play. The forecast is for rain over the next several days so they fit every Tom, Dick and Mary they could on the tee time list today. I complained to the cart buy at the end of the round and he agreed they squeezed too many players on to the course. The course is in very good conditions,, although, the greens are extremely hard and do not hold the ball.
Disappointed that the staff would try to push so many players on the course.

Resort course - extremely well manicured

I very much enjoy my round at this course. The course is in excellent conditions and very well maintained. Not a weed on the course, excellent fairways, above average greens but a little slow. Staff were very friendly. I’d definitely play here again.

Very playable course in McCormick Ranch

Fairly good layout considering fairways run throughout a neighbourhood. Lots of driving between holes through neighbourhood. Greens in good condition but a little slow. Good sand traps. Good value if you are able to get a discount price.

Challenging course through upscale urban community

Fairly challenging course. Lots of up hill and down hill fairways. Greens are in very good condition, but some have fairly severe slop. Good tee boxes. Fairways are in very good condition. Friendly staff. Electric carts with GPS. Lots of great reasons to play this course, especially if you can use a promo code from GolfNow.

Nice course to play especially if you get a good price (Hot Deals) from Golf Now.

Strengths: very well maintained, nice course layout, great practice range, friendly staff.
Weaknesses: Lots of well positioned sand traps - but too much clay/dirt mixed with sand, very smooth and maintained greens - but far too hard and do not hold shots.
Would I play there again - yes, but I certainly wouldn’t pay full rate.

Well maintained course in a fairly average neighbourhood.

The condition and maintenance of the course was above average for courses in this price range but the setting around the course is fairly boring - average neighbourhood with quite a few large power poles and power lines. I would recommend this course if the price point is about $35 to $40.

Not a very exciting course

Silverado has a fairly traditional layout. Not very challenging. The first 9 is back and forth in a little wash ravine. The back 9 follows a canal system with long cart drives between most holes. The sand traps are quite poor - as much dirt as sand. The course is well maintained. Trying to find the club house can be a bit of a challenge - they could improve their signage into the clubhouse. There are lots better courses in Phoenix area - for your dollar value.

Traditional Course

This course was built in the 60's and has a very traditional layout through a community of 60's home. Nothing very scenic! The course is in good condition and well maintained. The greens are fairly challenging and in good conditioning. The sand traps are half dirt and need to be refreshed. One big error in the design of the course is cart paths run down the middle of most fairways - you can hit a good drive and it bounces on a cart path running in the middle of the fairway - not good. Electric carts - very good. Driving range - very good.

You get what you pay for!

Charming par 3 course with a few longer holes in between. Quite a few bare patches. Greens are in pretty good condition. Excellent driving range. One of the better par 3 courses in the area. The club house keeps reversing the 9 from one day to the next which makes things confusing. You get what you pay for!

Course in rough shape!

If you are a weekend hacker and don't want spend a lot cash then this course will work for you. But if you wanting a more quality golf experience - look elsewhere. The holes are not challenging, more par 3's than anything else, more weeds than grass, and the greens do not have quality grass. There are a lot better courses for a few dollars more in Scottsdale.
