Course was good ,new carts with GPS. Very pricey compared to 3 years ago. Restaurant is only open past 4 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays! Hard to understand restaurant hours if you have any reasonable level of customer service.

Back nine in the old quarry is amazing. Narrow fairways and lots of elevation change. Bring lots of old balls, you will need them. Miss the fairway and your ball is gone.
Only negative is two holes on the front nine parallel the interstate and is quite noisy.

Very challenging course, each hole unique, if you miss the fairway, your ball is gone. Beautiful layout

Had a free golfnow round so value was excellent. Probably would not return at the going rate of mid $100's for a couple of reasons outlined below. Well maintained fairways, tees, and greens. Excellent sand in the numerous bunkers. No water on this "north" course.

On the negative side, greens were very flat and typical resort style. Also, all the holes basically were the same layout so none really stood out. The need to do some rodent control as the place is literally crawling with gophers.

One of my favorite courses, particularly the front nine. Course is in good condition with one big caveat, the sand traps. They have not maintained them and they are basically devoid of sand.

Best course condition I have seen this time of year. Nice steady pace, 3 3/4 hour round.

Haven't played Superstition Springs for a couple of years, forgot how great and diverse the layout is. Whole course is in great shape. Disappointed to see they have lost the lake on number 9. Used to be the signature hole in my mind. Very courteous staff and great spring value at $ 31.

Only played J.R. periodically during the winter as 5 hour rounds seemed to be the norm. Now that the course is less busy have played several 3 hour rounds. Always have loved the layout particularly the front . Course is in best condition in awhile. Greens are in excellent condition, sandtraps are good and fairway grass is coming back nicely. A few of the teeboxes are still sparse but getting better every day. Best time of the year to play J.R.

Practice area is good, great place of play, excellent greens. Bunkers were pretty good. The fairways and area around greens were scalped down to nothing. Lots of roll but I would prefer to be hitting off reasonable grass. All 3 water fountains claim to be RO filtered but water was terrible tasting.

Very nice course. Lots of big mean sand bunkers. Sand was fairly hard but consistent including green side bunkers. Would have preferred soft sand at greenside. Greens were freshly aerated but had not been sanded so were actually quite fast and fair. No water at all, just sand. Fairways were perfect. If there was a negative it would be that all the holes were similar and there weren't any memorable holes or what you would remember as a signature hole. Played it under the golf now + program so price was not a factor. I would not consider it to be a $170 course but worth playing at summer rates

Have played Ocotillo several times. Fairways were in excellent shape as usual. Greens were in poor shape, appeared to have lots of dead areas. May just be the transfer to Bermuda but have never seen them in this condition. Sand traps on the blue 9 were very hard packed, better on the white course. Good pace of play.

Good condition and quick pace of play. Course is fairly wide open and forgiving and scores well.

Nice enough course but got stuck behind a group of 5. Lady course marshall should not be dealing with the public. Her only concern was that we were not pushing the 5 ahead of us. She said they were such wonderful golfers that they were not a problem. All this while one of them was so good he was playing from the red tees, thank goodness as at least 2 of them were hitting 125 yards at a time !

Had a 1:15 tee time and typically they were 20 min late. Typical 5 hour round followed! Never saw a Marshall even once!

Like the course but tired of typical late tee times and 5 hour rounds!

Due to too many experiences with 5 hour+ rounds at J.R. made sure this time we booked a 8:15 tee time. Even at that hour, they were running 30 minutes late to tee off! Person ahead of us had booked as a single but showed up with 4 so they "squeezed" in another tee time. Not sure how often they do this but 5 + hour rounds and running late is an every day occurrence.
That said , the course is a great layout and with the exception of some completely barren tee boxes on the front nine, it is in the best condition I have seen it in a long time.
Would like to recommend but only if you have at least 5-6 hours from your booked tee time, stay away!

Course layout can be dangerous. Looks like they jammed the 2nd 9 inside the old nine. Sand traps have had no maintenance whatsoever. Very hard and clumbs of wild grass everywhere. Fairways are fairly good shape but shaggy after the overseed. Same with the greens. Wth the exception of 2 or 3 greens on the back nine, the greens are flat and not inspiring.

Great "after overseed" conditions. Will only get better with time but in great condition already.

All the holes seemed to be the same, nothing unique. Old style boring flat table top greens. Lots of stratigically placed sand traps but poor sand conditions. Place is overrun with gophers. At this price, they are catering to the convention goers at the hotel. Way overpriced for locals. Lots of nicer courses at half the price.
