Palm Beach Golf Course
Played On 04/01/2017A fun, yet challenging par 3 course
Unlike other par 3 courses, Palm Beach is in great shape -both the fairways as well as greens. The layout is interesting and challenging. Errant shots are penalized and the many bodies of water on the course will grab their fair share of wayward balls. Pace of play was outstanding - we finished in well under 3 hours. I highly recommend this course!
Park Ridge Golf Course
Played On 03/30/2017A pleasant surprise!
Was looking for a quick 9 hole round and saw this course on-line through GN. Reviews were OK so we gave it a try as the price was certainly more than reasonable. What a pleasant surprise! I was dreading a slow 9 on a public course and we pretty much shot through in 2 hours. The course, which is built on a landfill, has some nice elevation changes (unusual for Florida) has some interesting holes which use the terrain available. The tee box options were good for both advanced golfers as well as fine for women who might need shorter length holes. The course is in good shape although once off the fairway, there were quite a bit of weeds to contend with. While the greens were a little bumpy (hey, what do you expect from a public course at the end of a busy day?), the speed was fine and reads were reasonable.
They are building a new club house (which looks like it will be done fairly soon) so now the pro-shop and restrooms are in temporary facilities that are a bit "rustic". Once the new clubhouse opens, this will be a real gem of a public course. We'll definitely return - great value on a very solid course.
Pembroke Pines Country Club
Played On 09/17/2016Not bad (but not quite good)
While it's tough to beat the price, the course was in kind of rough shape. It starts with the driving range which is nothing short of bizzare. Aside from having precious little turf to hit from (mostly dirt) - it borders the 9th fairway and errant approach shots right of the green make for an exciting warm-up experience if you're not alert. This is downright dangerous and really should be addressed. The course itself has some interesting holes, however it had lots of bare spots once off the fairway. They had recently punched and sanded the greens (which was disclosed up front on the GolfNow app) so I can't comment on quality of the greens under normal conditions. The front and back 9's play like totally different courses. They are doing some serious earth moving on the 10th hole so there is a temporary tee box and the hole really plays almost like a very long par 3. Pace of play was fair (you can't expect to set speed records on a weekend on a semi-private course) but it would have been nice to see a ranger once or twice to help keep things moving.
This could be a nice track if they addressed a few basic issues, but for now I'd take a pass.
Thank you for your review. We're glad the price was good, and we appreciate your feedback as we continuously strive to improve our conditions.

We very much appreciate you picking us for your emergency nine and we're thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed yourself. The new clubhouse is up and running and we recently completed a drainage project, so you'll have to come back out soon so we can try to turn that four-star rating into five.
