Coming along nicely but very muddy

I played a fairly empty course after three days of rain in March. If you haven’t been to Laurelview in a while, it’s changed its name to the VUE. The clubhouse is looking good, and there are new signs and scorecards. Several of the bunkers need a lot of work, the cart paths are in a state of disarray and it was cart path only so it was quite bumpy. With all that said, the main problem is that the course is saturated. I had to play lift, clean, and place everywhere. Good layout, friendly staff, but the course is still too wet. I would say wait about a month.

Slow greens but a interesting layout

I had the 7am. Hit my Tee shot on one in total darkness. I played the whites, so no hole was more than 260 yards I shot 68 on the par 62 and I’m a 10 handicap. I three putted a few times mainly from leaving the lag putts way short. Big hitters won’t be able to use their driver without driving some greens but I liked being in nature and nice neighborhood and near the water, I would go back. I found my ball on the first hole. Center cut. Great course for older guys who have lost a little distance. Nice variation on all the par threes.

Go play and enjoy yourself

Nice variety of holes. Some undulations around the greens which is rare in FL. The greens are in excellent shape, overseeded with rye but still quick. The starter was very cool, the white claw was flowing like water in the bar. Very enjoyable day. Beware on number six and number seven, that is the teeth of the course. Hit your 170 yard shot off the seventh tee, not the big dog. Nice bunch of par threes as well. Nothing bad to say. Heading back there in a couple days.

Fun change of pace

Don’t let the scorecard fool you. Very short par 4’s will tempt you. Some greens on the back have a bit of damage. Great variety of par threes. Water comes in to play quite a bit. I shot my handicap and I played well. It’s not that easy. Great wedge players will thrive. Great selection of hats in pro shop.

Tough little track.

Tough little track. So you see 5600 yards on the scorecard and you say no problem, right? Wrong. The greens are small and crowned. They were not overly fast, but if you are on the wrong side of the holes your putts can definitely get away from you. This is a course where local knowledge will definitely help you.
Speaking of local knowledge, I played the course for the first time and it kicked my butt. Shot about eight strokes over my handicap. The Tee shots definitely favor a fade but there are ponds in many of the landing areas. Many of the Tee shots are blind, so you will definitely want to drive ahead and see what you’re looking at. The fairways are sloped in many places and a good shot can end up trickling down into a hazard or some really gnarly rough. The rough around the greens is deep. Course is well-maintained. They probably booked a few too many teetimes for Father’s Day as it was almost a five hour round. Everybody working there was very friendly and accommodating, especially Zack who took care of the carts. All in all it was a very nice course and a very enjoyable day but I advise leaving the driver in the car. You’ll have a better time. I went to the three Wood and 4 iron off the tee on the back nine and I scored better.

Look elsewhere

Look elsewhere. Poorly marked course with many many blind shots. The greens were not great. The layout wasn’t very exciting. The nicest thing about the course are the homes lining the course.

A pretty girl who has let herself go.

This is a nice layout. It has three different nine holes which all play a bit differently. But they have let the course go. There is no grass anywhere, you constantly have bare lies. Even in the fairway. I paid 35 bucks on a hot deal and was allowed to play 27 holes so the value was OK but I do believe you can find nicer courses elsewhere. From the blue tees it is a thinking man’s course however as you can leave driver in the bag on several holes

Bring all your wedges

Nice little track. Elevation changes on par 3's make club selection tough. Good greens. Not too fast. Very good short par 4's. I had fun. Was the first group off on Saturday morning and played in 2 1/2 hours. It's a pretty area.

Toughest greens around

Excellent condition. Challenging layout. Severely sloped greens. Water on several holes. Not enough yardage markers. Two distinct sets of tees if you want to play 18.
