Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort
Played On 04/07/2017Nice surprise
I didn't know that there was a golf course in downtown Chandler. The course isn't a desert layout -- so there are no "postcard" moments here. But the golf is good, and it's a very good value for this time of year (early April). As reported in other reviews, the green can be tricky, with lots of bunkers, but the fairways are wide open -- not nearly as close to houses as on may resort courses. A few marshy areas where sprinkler heads may have broken or something, and there's a canal that runs through several holes. Overall, very nice.

This is a nice short course. Par 61, and very playable. In better condition than some courses, and not as cramped feeling as some other short community courses. Very enjoyable.
Whitney Oaks Golf Club
Played On 09/10/2015No Help on Yardages
The most frustrating thing about the course is that there are a number of hazards and places where you can hit into trouble, but very few yard markers and no way to choose a club. For example, there's a marshy area in the middle of 18. Should you lay up? Hit over it? How far away is it? No idea. On one hole they even have a sign -- "Hit ball to the right of the rock formation" -- but no indication of how far from the tee it is. There are many areas that you can't enter, which means a lost ball. Bring 3 sleeves.
We appreciate the feedback and want to thank you for playing our course.
Thanks for the nice 4 star review! We hope to see you again soon.
