First time playing this course. Played as a single and fortunately got paired with a fellow who had a GPS Device. My biggest beef was there are no yardage markers to be found anywhere…..frustrating....no 100-150-200 yd. markers. As a 3 handicapper, can't be guessing on yardages. Shot 75, but would've been higher without the GPS. On the plus side, I loved the layout and the greens rolled great....fast and true, even after a heavy rain. Would definitely come back.

It's frustrating to see a course that WAS in very good condition a couple of years back, slip as badly as Ridgewood has.. I'll start with the POSITIVE: -I like the setting, the layout is nice, there are some really good holes! Also, the cart girl was around frequently (bonus)... The NEGATIVE: - Tees are a mess, (no grass), the actual blocks were pointed in wrong directions in relation to the landing areas (I moved a few of them) the greens are bumpy , and my pet peeve with this place...REALLY...! How much trouble would it be to put out more red stakes to clearly designate the numerous water hazards? (of which many are hidden from the tee) Think about holes #2, 4, 5, 9, 10, especially #11, (Arghhh!....) 13, 14, 16, 18.... a first-timer here would get frustrated real quick. I realize we've had little rain lately; the course is parched, but how difficult would it be to turn on some sprinklers once in a while? Another issue; there always seems to be a shortage of carts (at least every time I show up) The reason I return to Ridgewood is the closeness and convenience to where we vacation...having said that, there are lots of courses in the area for the same $$ with better conditions. Perhaps some new management would be in order....??? Buyer beware ...!

Despite all the past bad reviews, I thought I'd give it a try...well believe me what a pleasant surprise! I booked as a single and the starter was very accommodating in hooking me up with a group. This course is way better than I was anticipating...Oaks has undergone quite a makeover...kudos to all...! Conditioning is as good as any in the area in this price range. The layout is very interesting, the greens are excellent and roll nicely...tees are rough but who cares. Par 3's are very challenging. Staff were very friendly especially the girl in the pro shop and the starter.
One negative is the lack of yardage markers on sprinkler heads and very few 100 yard markers. Bring a Range Finder, or you will do a lot of pacing...
I will definitely be back as I enjoyed my experience....

I play this course every time I'm in the area...quite enjoy the layout, BUT, maybe best to avoid this time around. The greens are in very bad shape...! burnt out and very little grass....

I highly recommend this scenic course. First time playing it (Oaks) and I will be back! Great balance of holes. Conditioning is top notch. This is one of the best courses around and I've played a lot in the area. Loved the playability of this course! Shot 73 from the whites...Only complaint- where was the cart girl?....oh yeah and love the quaint little village concept...

This course is a gem....in excellent condition, especially the greens. I've been in Fla. a month now and this is one of the best values in the area. They pay attention to detail here, ..eg..tee blocks, yardages on cart paths, manicuring , etc...all good.....the course is very playable , yet challenging enough. I met the clubhouse manager; very friendly. Overall, I was impressed and will recommend this course. !

2nd time to play here and both times experienced the same situation; overbooked tee times and jammed up at first tee. They even squeezed in a group of members amongst the chaos ! Disapointing in that regard. Greens were lousy compared to other courses I've played this month, and the overall condition was iffy. However , on the plus side, the setting is nice along Lake Minneola, and the course itself has some real good holes; Not sure if I would play here again though......

I highly recommend any opportunity to play this unique course!
A very fair , straightforward test;...(it won't beat you up) no tricked up holes, everything in front of you.... excellent greens. It plays tighter than it looks, lots of overhanging trees to contend with , but you're rewarded with good shot-making...I like to walk, and you can here. The back 9 quarry holes certainly live up to their reputation ! Just a delightful golf course to play!!

Nice layout, good greens, fun course, but OMG!...overbooked, course jammed, we were 30 mins. late teeing off!....got to the 2nd hole...(par 3 over water) and discovered 4 groups waiting !!...Zzzzz....Brutal..2:45 to play the front 9 (Cardinal sin having your 2nd hole a tough par 3 over water- simple solution would be to reverse the nines)....cart girl not very friendly- had to coax a smile out of her !
