I’ll be back

Pace of play was perfect, greens and fairways, bunkers were excellent, layout was fantastic and challenging. Staff helpful and friendly. Drove an hour to get there and wasn’t disappointed. So many public and semi public courses should care as much here in SoCal before charging/ gouging for their rates for conditions not even half as good as Rancho California. This golf club is a good blueprint on how to value and care for patrons. Thank you all at Rancho!

Soggy bottom boys

Not really playable at this time. Too much water on course.. should have closed temporarily. This course has drainage problems in normal conditions appears groundskeeper got overruled. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to course.conditions down the road. Ounce of prevention, pound of cure. . Anyway wear a beater pair of spikes leather. My partners wore tennis style and were soaked. Wait to play and before you do ask someone coming off 9 or 18 about conditions before you pay.

Good value

The front nine is showing heavy traffic, long dry summer, gotta fluff in fairway on a few holes… few greens front 9 have some small dead spots but not horrible by any means.

Back 9 in fabulous shape. They should flip the 9s periodically to get a more sustainable overall course conditions.

Pace of play was average, I’ve had better there. But I golf in afternoons so it’s a crap shoot.

Staff has always been kind to me there, not a member so that says a lot and credit them and management.

Very enjoyable round

I’ve played several times here.and course and staff have always been top notch. Greens were a bit slow today but that was due to punching a few weeks ago.. pace of play here is very good the majority of the time at 3.5 to 4 hours on weekdays.

Be careful!

As far as course conditions, a bit deteriorated from 2weeks ago when I played … some tee boxes under repair and some greens have creeping dead spots on the edges.
I’ve said before, $40.00 course at best … less than that now..

I must however mention that I’m not going to be playing this course for a while. Masking is whimsical, supersoreader event late in the day overflowing to walkways outside restaurant.

And what’s the deal with these giant personally owned “golf carts” if you can call them that. They are allowed to park the atv’s next to restaurant in back and that’s the only walkway to #10.
I had to walk through a gamut of drinking maskless post golf revelers going and coming.

Hey look I’m all for a good time but I’d like a safer environment. I can’t risk my family’s health. They should try to accommodate them at another place out in front.

“A good walk spoiled.” I’m afraid.

Good but not great round

Strictly speaking of course and cost only. Greens about average to above average. Fairways and tee boxes average to below average. Pace of play was good.

Full price at prime times would make this course 2 stars. I couldn’t justify cost to course conditions commanding those prices.

It’s a $35-40 course and layout at best. If you can get that price, play it.

But other courses are doing the same. Jacking up prices to make up lost revenue during the pandemic.

Staff, practice area, restaurant are 4 stars.

A good value and fun!

I’ve always enjoyed playing this course. Staff friendly, great food and vibe. Covid precautions taken very good,. I feel safe.
Course layout is good for every level of golfer though lower handicaps may not find it as challenging as they'd like. Practice are is generous.
Pace of play in my early afternoon round was perfect.
Course conditions today was probably the only small negative. It was wet to soggy in spots with some small areas of deep mud. I’m not sure why this is but watering seems uneven.
Having said that, it was a great day on a laid back course and during these times, an island of calm and relaxation.
Try the food and beverages after your round, you won’t regret it!

Worth the drive

Tee boxes are good but can be better and it looks like they are working on it. Fairways ok, do need work but suspect it's due to terrain....see below. Greens and fringe .great.

It plays tougher than slope indicates due to elevation changes on every hole.. you'll be challenged to pick the right club.and pay attention to wind direction. Not long, but you have to think about position. Layout is great, fairways generous but the rest of your game will be challenged. It reminds me of a Robert Trent Jones designed layout in that respect.

I used my whole bag, fantastic!

That you don't have to be a bomber, but a thinking golfer to walk off with a good score.is refreshing.

Kudos! Keep up the good work Hemet, you have a diamond in the rough!

(Good) Challenging round

Played blue tees 6500/132.

Course layout is to me best in north county. I don't ever seem to get bored with the layout since you can score/play each hole different ways depending on how your swinging that particular day.

Fairways good shape and tight.. precise drives rewarded and scoring opportunity improves if you are long and straight. If windy, opt for strategic play versus aggressive on some holes.

Greens a bit slower today than I recall but it appeared to me they were aerated past month. Ball rolled true in most cases.

Pace of play was very good but I had an afternoon tee time so I can't vouch for pace during prime times.

Amenities/staff are great, I've always enjoyed my post round time there.

Definitely put this course on your "must play" list if you are in North County, you won't be disappointed.

A great time

Played the blue tees 6398/126 score 79

The fairways and greens are in very good shape. Not a lot of trouble off the tees but the greens are sneaky fast to me. You have to pay attention to speed and on some holes I didn't and walked off with a 3 putt.

The practice area is stellar ... the only thing missing is a bunker practice area.

Staff/restaurant are always tops. I'm treated professionally and with courtesy each time and this may be the main reason I play here so much. They just make golf a fun, andpleasurable experience.

If you are in north county, St. Mark should be on your must play list.

Hidden gem

Front 9 is links golf while the back 9 is hilly/traditional. Tee boxes fairways and greens are better than most ...8/10 ... and it shows.

Staff and starter were very friendly and informative. I highly recommend you get the yardage book with tips on how to play each hole at starters area.

I had a great time and a good test of your skills and mental/golf IQ...you have to think about where your ball needs to be and execute....be mindful of the wind... especially on front 9.

A nice course

The course layout was fine... a few curious holes though but that was ok.

Plays like a shorter course because on many holes you have to hit a landing area that does not require a driver for the longer hitters.

Greens were in great shape and the fairways average to good. Trees play a big role here gotta be straight over long.and you get a lot of roll.

Greens were multi tiered. For more of a challenge, I'd make them faster... a bit slow for me but true rolls.

For some reason, iron shots go farther here so keep that in mind on your approach shots.

I was a single and got paired with two others and we had a great time and finished in 4 hours (1:30 tee time).

Staff was average demeanor not rude but a bit distant/ distracted. But it is a resort... I'd expect more from staff.

Amenities top notch no complaints on that.

I'd play it again but course seems to be missing the "wow" factor I've had at other venues.

Good time

Signed on as as single through GolfNow and got paired with another single who was very nice. We finished in 3.5 hours wow!

Course layout I like very much and tee boxes aplenty to match your skill level. It's not a course for walking due to distance between tee boxes. Though greens were punched, holes were small and ball rolled surprisingly true.

Staff and amenities top notch... my go to course when I'm in Temecula. Give them a try.

Great course

Second time I've played this course and I really enjoyed it both times. Played from tips which fit my preference of 6500 + yds and slope of 125+.

Great range and practice areas, friendly pro shop and snack bar.

Pace of play was slow but it was a holiday so was understandable but part of problem from my perspective were a lot of "ego" tip players who didn't belong there. I try to stay with a slope of 125-135 regardless of yardage... not sure folks pay attention to slope that much.

Course itself great shape. Links style front 9 with a "mountain" course back nine with elevation changes, so pick your poison!

Soggy

might want to wait a week or two to play. Heavy rains have made fairways very soggy and clean and place may be 10 yards and you MIGHT find relief.

Greens stellar... it's just getting there.

Normal conditions are fine and I do play course frequently. Just sayin wait till it dries out... I am

A very good value

I played at 2 pm with a GolfNow hot deal. Course is in great shape fairway to green. Course layout seems to favor lefties with a fade or righties with draw. I prefer the back 9 layout over front 9 but not by a lot. Only minor complaint was I could not get a true roll on the greens... a bit of a bumpy ride to the hole but I suppose that had more to do with grass type and time of day I played. Definitely try this course.

A hidden gem

I must say this was one of the most fun rounds of golf I've played . Course is in good shape. I did not find bare areas noted in previous reviews... Dry but not bare. A few greens had some very minor problem areas but pin placements took them out of play. Every hole was different and keeps you on your toes. You have to be able to hit spots on fairways to take advantage of hole. If you don't, you must have ability to draw or fade or you'll need to lay up. Staff and amenities were top notch. This is now my favorite course.
